  • A (I believe) typical house on the Greek island Santorini. It is a ‘tuned’ version of this according to suggestions in the For Critique forum.

  • The sun sets on this old house, in more ways than one. I believe it shall soon be no more, it’s life given for a a new housing estate. No-one lives there now, but soon there’ll be hundreds of little blocks with little houses and not-so-little morgages!

  • An old bulding still standing strong in round valley, ID. Enjoy!

  • Taken at Brush Arbor, Kentucky / The buildings were under construction, I met the owner who never met me, he gave me the right to photograph his buildings while he left for an important meeting. Now that is putting trust in a person. I had a field day photographing with no one around, but me, my wife and our dog.

  • An old ruin in Berlin Spandau (Germany)...

  • An old derelict house with vibrant blue painted door and window frame. Photographed using HDR: 3 merged images with an AEB of 3. Camera: Canon 350D EOS. The photo was taken in Womerah Avenue, Darlinghurst, Sydney Australia.

  • Photo of old building recharacterized in redfield plugin lattice composer in photoshop. Gave the photo a painted look. / This art work is registered copyright© 2008 and any copyright infringement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in the USA and International. /

  • I thought this would be a nice card to illustrate the old cliche, “A woman’s work is never done,” and to honor women everywhere who work hard at home, on the job, within the family circle, in the community, in the church, in public service. This energetic little Eastern bluebird female exemplifies an honorable work ethic in her diligence at nest-building. (Note the bedraggled look of poor little Mama’s feathers; temperatures were in the 90s and she was really feeling the heat and humidity! Just about the same concept as a housewife sweating over the stove or the ironing board!)

  • This old homestead in the Muskoka region of Ontario, refuses to surrender to the elements. “Under none of the accredited ghostly circumstances, and environed by none of the conventional ghostly surroundings, did I first make acquaintance with the house. I saw it in the daylight, with the sun upon it. There was no wind, no rain, no lightning, no thunder, no awful or unwonted circumstance, of any kind, to heighten its effect.”~Charles Dickens

  • Composite of multiple images of a derelict site in Eastern Washington. I wanted to use the images in some way, but it wasn’t until a model from ModelMeyhem offered to let me use this pic in one of my ‘creations’ that it came together. The descrepancy between her dress and manner….and the background just seemed to work to suggest an amusing anecdote…..Plus I love her posture….Thanks to Laura W for her image…...

  • let us pay homage to those whome dwell on slopes.

  • This is one of my fav spots to shoot… the St. John’s waterfront. / / The homes on the side of the cliff are known as the battery. / / / Canon 400D… lightroom and CS3 to process. / / LARGE VIEW recommended / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography

  • Watercolour painting of Filey, North Yorkshire, UK / Standard water colour paper

  • / When I wasn’t playing cricket with the locals, I was in awe of the landscape that is India. This is Jaisalmer, dubbed the golden city because of its honey colour. There are also two black chairs above one of the balconies, no safety railing to speak of…. what a place!

  • Alone, she prays for her chance to escape, he’s had her held here for what seems like months..she keeps going back to that day she was snatched from her world, it was a beautiful day, she took that short walk through the woods to the little lake that she has come to since she was a little girl, not knowing the evil that was lurking and watching, and now she’s here, held against her will..his prisoner.. she lays down on the dirt floor, closes her eyes and escapes to her dreams..the dreams of being Anywhere BUT here. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens I do believe this is actually farmers quarters, there were 3 of these houses right next to each other.

  • He felt it as soon as he walked in the house..THE EVIL..yet one look at his new brides face wiped that feeling away..she loved it, and all he wanted to do is please her, and please her he did when she turned to him with “I Love it” on her lips..he turned to the real estate agent and said “We’ll take it”...from that day his world was turned upside down..The voices started not long after moving day, telling him that “she was no good” his beautiful wife…convincing him he would be better without her..whispering those terrible things he should do to “Fix” her..Now he sits at the top of the stairs looking down at the bottom where she lays crumbled and not moving..flashes of remembrance coming in and out..her running with him on her heals, screaming for her to “come back”...her slipping..reaching for him, tumbling..and now all he can hear is the voices again..claiming him, he knows now he is forever here in this evil house..IN ITS GRIP.. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR lens

  • New to the neighborhood Jimmy knew he had to do the dare, or life would be hell, he never should have played the stupid Truth or Dare game, but he went along any way, wanting to just fit in. Being new he didn’t know the stories that were told about this place.. He told himself “Man Up, its only 15 minutes in a old abandoned house“..as he climbed the stairs he could feel the goosebumps on his arms raise..he opened the door and walked in..the door slammed shut behind him…screaming he ran to the door..pulling..yanking ..the door wouldn’t budge, he could hear the kids outside laughing and mocking him..all he could think about is getting the hell out of there, he didn’t care anymore about fitting in…the silence in the house was deafening, it hurt his head and ears..then he saw it ..pure hell floating towards him..at first he couldn’t move his legs for what seemed like forever, he finally got his footing and headed straight for the window, no thoughts of the glass that would shatter around him and cut him to shreds ..just the need to be out of here..jumping through the window he landed hard knocking the wind from his lungs….his eyes fluttered open, the fog of his brain clearing, relief spreading through him as he realized he was on his bedroom floor..a dream..thank god just a dream..still shaken he picked himself off the floor, then he heard the laughter, as he turned he seen the faces of those neighborhood kids..dead eyes..melting faces….TRUTH OR DARE Jimmy?? Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens Backdoor shot of the Abandoned house /

  • He left her laying on the floor on a dirty mattress, the place he left her every night, the place he told her to / now call “Home” as he walked away from her, the hatred streaming through her veins made her snap, she wouldn’t go down like this, she called out to him, “Don’t Leave”, turning eyeing her suspiciously, he walked back to her, not knowing she had found her weapon earlier that day, a brick in the corner under some cardboard, behind her back she gripped it with one hand, the other hand reaching out to him, as he drew close she brought the brick down hard on the side of his head..down he went….she ran towards the door slamming it shut..,,finally she was free!!! She didn’t know which way to run, she just ran..as she rounded the corner.. to her utter relief parked not 20 ft from her was a police car..screaming..running she now knew she was safe..in no time she would be back home..”Her Home” she drew closer seeing him getting out of his car approaching her, she ran..throwing herself in the safety of his open arms..crying..”there..there now..your safe” he said ..she stiffened..knowing that voice..No it can’t be!!! She looked up right into the eyes of her worst nightmare..Him..he looked down, kissed her forhead “ wrapped his arms tightly around her waist..Now sweetie lets go back HOME.. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens Went on the inner part of the grain elevator today and got this shot (no one around on Sundays)

  • PORTMEIRION is an Italianate resort village in Gwynedd, on the coast of Snowdonia in Wales. The village is located near Penrhyndeudraeth, on the estuary of the River Dwyryd, two miles southeast of Porthmadog, and one mile from the railway station at Minffordd, which serves both the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway and Arriva Trains Wales (Cambrian Line). / Portmeirion has served as a location for films and television shows, most famously serving as The Village in The Prisoner. / THE PRISONER is a 17-episode, British television series which was first broadcast in London from the 1st of October 1967 to the 4th of February 1968. Starring and co-created by Patrick McGoohan, it combined spy fiction with elements of science fiction, allegory, and psychological drama. / The series follows a British former secret agent who is held prisoner in a mysterious seaside village where his captors try to find out why he abruptly resigned from his job. Although sold as a thriller in the mould of McGoohan’s previous series, Danger Man (called Secret Agent in its U.S. release), the show’s combination of 1960s countercultural themes and surreal setting had a far-reaching effect on science fiction/fantasy programming, and on popular culture in general.
