Old dilapidated barn with rustic red doors. This old barn will be torn down sometime this month. Someone in the neighborhood complained that it was an “eye sore”.... so sad! Image was redone for me in HDR by Kimberly Palmer.

A door at the end of a long corridor. Light and Dark creates an interesting pattern. Gives a suggestion of infinity
What remains of the Cafe and probably lodgings above it. / I was in Turkey to attend ANZAC Day at Gallipoli. / I became fascinated with Istanbul and decided to walk the backstreets which is where I found this old cafe. / Istanbul, is truley a very remarkable place. Olympus E300 / 14 – 45 mm lens.
There are many fine old buildings in Newcastle dating back to the mid to late 1800’s. This is just a few of them made into a Digital Montage.
Found this wonderful old unoccupied building at Rendelsham, (between Millicent and Beachport) in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. Bright bold peeling red paint on the front door, offset by small flute corrugated iron walls. Surrounded by old rusted out cars, tins and a range of heritage items this place stands as a wonderful reminder of times past. Canon 400D 18-55 lens.
One of my twins in front of the same building as seen in another one of my pictures titled, “Hideaway”. Considering the colors, I was trying to get a happy shot. However, he was upset because he wanted to go take pictures of a baby gopher with his own camera. I told him to just act as he felt and snapped this shot. Well, that is, after he said “This is the last one, Mom. Then I’m done”. Sometimes you have to let them call the shots. ;)
Very creepy and scary abandoned farm house. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens / /
Once housed art and crafts / Now hollowed reminder of the past / Color coded to forget / A life rich in elegance I was inspired by my love for the Roycroft Inn to write this little poem. Built in 1895, the Roycroft Arts and Crafts Community had many buildings to house the artistic community and unfortunately a fire claimed one of the elegant buildings years ago and now lays in ruins. / East Aurora, NY Casio Exilim /
The historic and very stylish Customs House building near the Newcastle Foreshore area in New South Wales.
I seen this Stone house on our road trip in Tennessee, Just out of Gatlinburg, and made my husband turn around..it was built right in the side of a huge hill..totally abandoned, I was walking closer to walk inside..or peek into the window..but the horrible (and I mean HORRIBLE!) Smell that hit me in the face like a brick made me turn around retching..lol..so I decided to (with my imagination running wild and seeing in my mind some corpse in a chair watching the tv that was inside the house) I walked very fast in the direction of my car.. Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens
Taken in Dali, China. Cross-processed using RGB curves adjustment. Added TTV layer. / Nikon D300 with 18-200 mm lens.
This is the first of several shots that I took while in Adelaide over the weekend. This is a laneway off a main street in Adelaide city centre. It grabbed my attention as I walked past, the dilapidated building, the door, the lone milk crate. It gave me a creepy feeling, even though it was mid afternoon. So I put the powers of post processing to work, blanched out colour, selective colour and contrast adjustment on door and a bit of lighting effect. The contrast of dark and light to aid the scary mood of this one. This gave me the feeling that someone was being held here, against their will. Within reach of the public, but so well hidden no one knows they are there. This moment is when the search party looking for them for days, maybe weeks, finally gets the clue that leads them here. He left her laying on the floor on a dirty mattress, the place he left her every night, the place he told her to / now call “Home” as he walked away from her, the hatred streaming through her veins made her snap, she wouldn’t go down like this, she called out to him, “Don’t Leave”, turning eyeing her suspiciously, he walked back to her, not knowing she had found her weapon earlier that day, a brick in the corner under some cardboard, behind her back she gripped it with one hand, the other hand reaching out to him, as he drew close she brought the brick down hard on the side of his head..down he went….she ran towards the door slamming it shut..,,finally she was free!!! She didn’t know which way to run, she just ran..as she rounded the corner.. to her utter relief parked not 20 ft from her was a police car..screaming..running she now knew she was safe..in no time she would be back home..”Her Home” she drew closer seeing him getting out of his car approaching her, she ran..throwing herself in the safety of his open arms..crying..”there..there now..your safe” he said ..she stiffened..knowing that voice..No it can’t be!!! She looked up right into the eyes of her worst nightmare..Him..he looked down, kissed her forhead “ wrapped his arms tightly around her waist..Now sweetie lets go back HOME.. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens Went on the inner part of the grain elevator today and got this shot (no one around on Sundays)
