FUSIONartPHOTOGRAPHY.com Feature artist for the GROUP:EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY and EDITING. This creation is about my return to Melbourne after eight exciting and event filled years living in Japan and China . Regular trips home to see family and friends had not really prepared me for that emotional roller coaster ride that many experience after the conclusion of an overseas assignment. / Initially, when living in countries where the language is foreign ,one delves deep inside oneself and adjusts by becoming more observant to compensate. The experience is beyond description. / Upon returning home ones’ city has become a mystery. Eye contact/ a smile meant so very much in the re-adjustment period as after such a long period away ,one really belongs nowhere and maybe the heart will always now remain in 3 places and so we have “Mysterious Melbourne” / “ A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” / Essence of Ancient Wisdom/ Asia

I decided to turn a few of the pics I had published (see here) into pieces for the folio. This is the rear view of Notre Dame, Paris, capital of France. This cathedral resembles a neo gothic castle from this view. I wanted to give this one a historic look, but it has taken on a more fairy tale appearance. I love it when the piece takes over and creates itself! Textures from www.deviantart.com free use stock. Colour altering, hue changes, desaturating and colour level adustment allowed for the colours in this. Canon SX100IS MCN: CVQ4W-C3DVJ-QD54B More Europe work:

Notre Dame, Paris, captial city of France. The last in my Notre Dame series. I created six versions of this shot, trying different textures, colours and layers, but this was the first one that moved toward a theme or emotion that I wanted. It feels quite lonely and stripped of hope to me, but I’m sure it will have varied meaning to the individual. 8 layers of texture from www.deviantart.com free use stock – Amurrr. Lightened each layer, adjusted hue and colour levels, blended each with 3 layers of the photo, one b&w, one colour and one desaturated. Flattened image and further colour tweaking and adjusting.
