This was mainly painted using a palette knife and heavily textured with impasto Oil on Canvas 24”x20” Original for Sale This painting was featured in the Red Bubble groups Oil Painting, Impressionist Art, Abstract Realism and Streetscapes.

Louisville, Kentucky USA 21 April 2008 10:06 PM EST This shot was NOT easy due to another photographer trying to take this same night shot using a flash. From this vantage point, the city is one mile away. He ruined 5 of my long exposures with his flash. Finally, I politely ask him to please let me get one good shot. / MCN: C30-NP3U-4430

Urban cityscape as viewed from the observation deck of the Shinjuku government tower (the south one, I think) in Tokyo, Japan. (Admission is free to both towers’ observation decks, so if you’re ever in Shinjuku, bear that in mind. Bear in mind also that your chances of the weather being clear enough to see Mt Fuji are cripplingly small. I certainly didn’t see it!) Anyway, back to the shot: I like it, it’s pretty cool, and I just adore Tokyo; but I was really, REALLY surprised when it won the October pentaxforums forum challenge poll, for the theme : “Cityscape” 8)) So in that regard, I guess it is the most ‘popular’ photo I’ve taken, as well as one I like!

I adore the Hong Kong cityscape – there are these awesome buildings that are literally stacked against eachother, each building with its own intricate building block formation, stacked upon itself, interconnecting and forming the huge picture that is the Hong Kong cityscape. The use of repetition is expansive and seems to go on forever – gotta love that! There is also this futuristic component that exists in the architecture as well as industry poking through. Mmmmm industry….

I can tell you the past few days have been the worst choice to do some work around the Garden. Anyway here are two HDR – Sunrise shots from a few weeks ago taken from Victoria Road near the old White Bay Power Station. I hope you like it. View from my balcony… I connected with this cityscape so much and photographed many times in various shades of light… Now, luckily I didn’t have to get up as early as Mel Brackstone does for her superb landscapes, this was shot early morning, and hopefully conveys some of the attitude that is Singapore…

Shot from the roof garden of Crown casino – showing an austere view of the Melbourne cityscape. There were all these cool air conditioning vents and massive cooling towers amidst this very well thought out landscape of hedges…

After many shots of this same scene before HDR I felt there was something here to be told through the story of Art and high dynamic range photography has brought it out in this shot of the Sydney skyline.
