  • On Saturday I went into Sydney and met up with Mel Brackstone which was a real treat…. the weather here in Sydney had been pretty dire with heavy weather and thunderstorms forecast so we didn’t make any firm arrangements about what we would do preferring to just see what the day was like. We met at the steps of the Town Hall in the centre of Sydney and then wondered around the QBV building for a while and then meandered around the city ending up at the State Library where we took in an really delightful exhibition of black and white photo’s taken before WWll by a fella called Paul Caddy…. well worth a trip to town just for that to be honest… anyway after that we wandered down through the CBD to Circular Quay were we had some lunch and meandered around somemore before Mel was collected to be taken out to Rose Moxon’s place for a photo shoot…. this is one of the shot’s I took of the city buildings… the day had been overcast and threatening rain all day and then the sun came out with a vengence…. the curved brick walls of this building facinate me and when ever I go past it I take a few shots like this older image called hook this new image has something else though courtesy of that blazing flash of the sun above and behind this building…. a little celestial signage graces the sky above this beautiful building…. it makes it look almost like a compass to me….

  • When I woke up this morning and went out my front door I could see – albeit part-obscured by buildings from our 8th floor flat – the cone of Mount Fuji as clear as I have seen it all year. I knew the sunset would be a good one and sure enough it was. This is taken from the 13th floor roof of our block of flats, just before 5pm this evening and looking towards the Tamagawa area of Tokyo. Nikon D300 / Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED

  • This was taken in Portland Oregon on a foggy day. The sun can be seen peaking through the clouds in the buildings reflection.
