  • This beautiful old building is located on Parramatta Road very close to Sydney Uni and Broadway. I love the graceful lines of the structure and am grateful that when it was done up and converted into luxury apartments that the exterior of the building was left untouched. The harsh lines of the windows cutting into the old signwriting make this a real visual treat and an icon on the way into to town. Taken with infrared film using a very low rent battered old analouge camera while standing on a dustbin in the servo over the other side of Parramatta road. Hope you like my building.

  • These wonderful old buildings are part of the old Convent in Abbotsford. It’s well worth a visit, has a great bakery and cafe, as well as Artist’s Markets on the first and third Sundays every month. / This photograph was featured in the Red Bubble groups Postcard Style and Full Frontal Facades, and was voted into the Top Ten of the Full Frontal Facades group challenge OLD Facades / / /

  • Port Adelaide – Crozier Street / A friend of mine headed down to Port Adelaide to take a look at some of the older buildings in the area. This one really captured my eye.

  • Couldn’t resist this old, abandoned building in Williamstown, Melbourne. Not a straight line to be seen, peeling paint, graffiti – and such character! /

  • Melbourne icon The Esplanade Hotel, St.Kilda has been a renowned live music venue for many years. /

  • The image has been created as an alternative to the popular and greatly exaggerated theory of global warming and its consequences. Since global warming activists predict a dramatic change of the planet’s surface in the nearest future, the Ice Age Premonition portrays our society in the new Ice Age. / Ice Age – A cold period marked by episodes of extensive glaciations alternating with episodes of relative warmth. Any geologic period during which thick ice sheets cover vast areas of land. Such periods of large-scale glaciations may last several million years and drastically reshape surface features of entire continents. A number of major ice ages have occurred throughout the Earth’s history; the most recent periods were during the Pleistocene Epoch. There have been at least four major ice ages in the Earth’s past. The last glacial period ended about ten thousand years ago. / Surrealism art prints / Digital art prints / Fantasy digital art wallpapers

  • When I worked in Melbourne I could see the Nylex Clock out the window of the 5th floor everyday. All Melbournians know and love the Nylex Clock!! I’m sad that I couldn’t get the top of the nylex clock in the shot but I didn’t have a choice – I still like it for what it is. I really quite like the perspective of being on the road. I’m very much in love with my city of Melbourne. Every time I go into the city I’m entranced by it. This photo was taken while travelling on the citylink. I LOVE MELBOURNE. / .

  • This is a city in Europe, one can see the Church, as if crumbling in the reflection of the Building….people are sitting , watching, waiting, as if all is normal, when all is in reality Chaos….

  • just a random snap of a graffittied Stop sign in one the tiny tangled back streets in Newtown…. and it makes a lot of sense to me…. if we all stopped driving so much it might have an impact on climate change….. and it’s climate change that is behind the blinding fury of the devasting holcoust of fire that is laying waste to most of Victoria at the moment…. so this is my thought for the day…. please if your just going down to the shops for some milk and suchlike… how about you just walk instead…. ?

  • Collaboration with dinghysailor1 / A collaboration with my great RB friend, the talented Photographic Artist dinghysailor1. I had discussed the possibility of working together to make a few images and Maggie was very keen. She went out and took a handful of superb shots of very historic landmarks in Scotland, based on a list of subject matter I was interested in using for a photo-manipulation – things that sparked my imagination. Then I lost my editing program, and as a consequence, a lot of my motivation to create anything. But I got a replacement program recently, and just finished this artwork today. I’m very pleased to have her as an RB friend and it’s great to work together ! :)) Here is Maggie’s Original Photograph / To view Maggie’s excellent Portfolio visit dinghysailor1 Here’s a photograph I took of the moon recently and used in this Artwork / Featured in the AW Welcome Center on Sunday 23/8/2009 / Thank you to all the Moderators for the feature !

  • This is just for dinghysailor1 to see – if you have already commented on the Original Version please don’t feel like you need to comment on this modified version. :) As requested by Maggie, here is a special version of the original edit – minus the little planet / moon that was on the right in the other version uploaded a few days ago.

  • On the first day of my stay in Melbourne while on route to the Ballarat International Foto Biennale I met up with some friends and we went to the old Convent in … I think… Abbotsford. Apart from it being a very beautiful place to just wander about in… there is a fabulous new artspace and gallery there which I am interested in for a possible exhibition next year. Anyway the jusxtaposition of the old and the new everywhere in this amazing place was a real photographers delight…. this is one of the random snaps I took while wandering about enjoying the beautiful spring weather and the company of my new friends….. / . / . /
