I was walking in Downtown Tribeca, NY last week when I looked up at this old building. It seems vacant and I had the sneaking suspicion that it would be gutted and totally redone. I imagined this old ad on the building would be gone—and so I shot it immediately. I see it as a historical view of Old New York. I did a bit of selective coloring play to get the message across more clearly. :)

A snowy morning in Bryant Park in Manhattan.
Taken from the top of the Rockefeller centre. I’m not very good with landscapes and cityscapes, but I’ve always wanted to go visit the city and get some black and white shots of it.
featured in “history” group Two buildings in Market St, Melbourne. One old, the other newer. I liked the contrast between the two and the sun trying to peek through. I hope you like it :) /

A New York tale in the rain. Pastel on paper.
Taken the last morning of a NYC trip I took to do a project at Google. The sky was amazing!
I love the Big Apple and I love music. My last visit to New York inspired me to create this illustration.
This was taken during last years trip to Croatia. / I took it whilst walking around the city walls of Dubrovnik. / Amazing to see the original roof tiles. / I wondered as I looked at the windows about what sort of person lives there….surrounded by tourists constantly looking in. / Magical. Once housed art and crafts / Now hollowed reminder of the past / Color coded to forget / A life rich in elegance I was inspired by my love for the Roycroft Inn to write this little poem. Built in 1895, the Roycroft Arts and Crafts Community had many buildings to house the artistic community and unfortunately a fire claimed one of the elegant buildings years ago and now lays in ruins. / East Aurora, NY Casio Exilim /

This abandoned building is located in Nelson, New brunswick. I’m not sure what this building was used for, I can’t find any history on it online. / It has a sign that reads; LOL No 147 and the year of the building is 1906. It was definitely creepy though! -cross processed /
Watercolour of the 12th century, Haddon Hall, Derbyshire. / Taken from Rinkydink’s original photo. I used lots of lifting off and negative painting, to get the tonal contrasts. I wanted to emphasize the age and wonderful textures of the old stone work – almost a thousand years old. I’ve entered this in the Just Watercolours group challenge. / I really liked the original photo colouring. For this, I needed a limited palette of just four – sienna, umber, cerulean and yellow , which I used in various dilutions and mixtures. St Petersburg watercolour pans. 12 X 8 inches 30×20 cms / Poundworld 90lb paper.
From my Bird-Fish Eye series. New York city is too big for only 1 photo so I took 2. I shot this from the Empire State Building looking down town. I am ADD and Dyslexic so I want to make photos that I can look at a long time with out getting board. I have been studying this photo since I created it in 2006 and I will never get tired of looking at it. It has tuns of landmarks from the Central Park to Rockefeller Tower. You can even see a posh roof top party if you look hard enough. You can’t go wrong with Black and White when shouting New York City.
