Work Featured (also 70,000+30,000=100,000 views!) at the six month mark!! Well, i notice a lot of folks around the big B are having their work featured….. / and i just checked my little featured work button and found out that I had one featured too (albeit all of six days ago) lol / Butterfly Love I’d like to thank the hosts over at Insects, Bugs and Creepy Crawlies Group for featuring my work, i feel very honoured I have also just been featured on the Home Page!! Yay…thanx RB…with Mirage While I’m here….i would like to say thank you to you all for your kind words on my previous journal regarding the exhaustion I’ve been experiencing here I was really moved by your kind words and it was a giant relief to me that people understand the ebb and flow of energy…..I have been on the bubble non-stop for 6 months straight, with barely a breather…..so I am taking a little respite time…..still here, answering bmails and maintaining my activities list as much as possible, but I’ve reduced whipping myself over not getting to everything ontime all the time to the bare minimum, and your understanding has helped enormously! Thank you to all the special people who love me and whom I love here on RB….you are the best thing since sliced bread!! (and I should know coz am not allowed to eat sliced bread anymore, so be scared…you could be my next meal!! lol)

As a result of the new activity monitor, we’ve had quite a few people surprised by multiple events or sales they didn’t know about. Initial indication is that it is behaving differently on the real site than on our testing machines. We’re investigating further, but in the meantime be aware that events shown in the activity monitor may not be 100% accurate. Sorry! Stay tuned for further updates soon…

  • Fascinated by spiders, ‘Long Legs’ Luke underwent an extremely dangerous procedure to change his appearance. Now, unable to fit in to the norm – he is forced to live amongst the creatures that inspired his transformation. (Scroll down to see the process) Here is the basic process I went through to get this image – it may help some of you! PROCESS / This Shirt took many hours to complete and it started with a simple sketch - Then, once scanned into the computer, I changed the colour to a light blue and ‘traced’ over it using the Pen Tool in Photoshop. I had an effect on each layer to show only pink outlines. Then, Once it was all traced, it was time for colouring, adding and modifying any awkward areas. The shirt he is wearing is Flaming Zebra White So there you have it! It’s not a detailed process, but it may give you a basic idea of how I set up my designs. Now go check out the shirt! :) Close up

Hey guys, don’t know about you but I thought today was a blast. I got to ride a ferris wheel, look at cool street art, drink red wine and take photos… oh hang on… I didn’t actually get around to the taking photos bit. But the red wine was good! :) In fact, I’m loving this whole “meet up” thing. It’s almost as addictive as surfing the RedBubble galleries… almost. And here are just a handful of group shots taken by Hien. (isn’t he just sooooo talented?)

Hey Everyone, Firstly sorry to my watchers, I’ve been trying to help sort out the current activity monitor bug, so I’m sorry if I’ve spammed you a little. / I also need to say I’ve been slack and haven’t given you an Egypt update, but one is coming, hopefully this weekend! In other news I was featured in an interview with Eyal / from the Middle East Art But I failed to acknowledge my wife and her infinite patience, so let me do that now, Katie is great she puts up with photography adventures, modelling when she hates being in front of the camera, and some very long waits for the “perfect light”. So please check out the interview here And to wet your whistle a little here are a few more Egypt images, plenty more to come. Stone Tablet / Saqqara, the Step Pyramid / Signs on the Beach / GiZ Tra Fic / / Windswept / / Let me know if you think any of these are Redbubble portfolio worthy, so far I think not.

Okay, so RB has been wigging out on me lately! What’s the deal-y-y-o? I AM GOING CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!! RB spare me this insanity…. pweese? :o( I have written two posts about this, here and here. And, now this journal to share with you the utter chaos I have been dealing with for the last 2 1/2 days!!! It totally ruined Drawing Day for me!!!! Oh pooh! This problem is not with FireFox or IE, because I tried both and the problem persisted with both. I have been dealing with pages like these the entire time as well as other minor things as stated in the forum posts. Oh, somebody help. OR, I’m gonna go postal! Flames…flames at the…side…of my face…heaving breaths…! Here are some screen shots I took today. The first is FF and the second is IE: /

  • Things I dislike about RedBubble

First off, I should probably qualify “dislike”. What follows is a list of things about RedBubble that annoy me, think of it as a wishlist; perhaps the start of a wishlist; some ideas about a request of features or fixes and so on. I’m writing this more as a reminder to myself than anything else. Mostly I like RedBubble. It’s a good enough site. I wouldn’t be using it if I didn’t find it usable—I just happen to think that if the following were dealt with it’d be more usable. So, in no particular order, the things that I dislike about RedBubble are: It’s impossible to keep track of comments you’ve made on people’s works. Likewise, it’s impossible to keep track of posts you’ve made to the forums. The text formatting for comments is awful and easy to get wrong (because it tries to be easy to get right). It also appears that many features of the formatting system aren’t documented in an obvious way (as I type this the only help directly available is three lines below the edit box). The lack of an edit facility after you’ve posted a comment drives me nuts. The above is made even worse by the lack of a preview facility for comments. The lack of a facility that lets me remove comments (either my own or someone else’s) is annoying. I dislike how I can’t know if I’ve previously faved an image while I’m viewing it. I dislike how I can’t know if I’m currently watching someone while viewing their profile. I dislike how I can’t un-fave an image while I’m viewing it. I dislike how I can’t un-watch someone while I’m viewing their profile. I dislike how I can’t go into edit mode while viewing one of my own images. I dislike how the upload process won’t make use of any IPTC data in an image. If I’ve gone to the trouble of typing up my title and my description once already, why do I have to do it all over again? I dislike how groups are currently unusable in terms of keeping track of their limits. I like how some of the groups have a “5 images in total” limit and I really want to abide by it but I dislike how I’ve got to trawl through all my images (or through the group’s images) to figure out how many I’ve already got in there. BubbleMail is handy, but far less handy than it could be because I can’t see an of the BubbleMails I’ve sent. (Thanks to Deborah for reminding me about that issue) I do, however, like that it’s early days and that most of the above will probably be addressed in some way in the near future.

Check out this amazing photograph that my wife shot! / Well, after I pointed him out to her. This little guy landed on the reeds I was photographing … and didn’t want to leave. / But “SWMBO”: had the macro lens, so I quietly asked her to quickly but slowly move next to me. Thankfully Frank Sinatra decided to stick around for his photograph. But he didn’t stay for his autograph, there was no second shot! Not bad! Whaddiya think?! Frank Sinatra? Old Blue Eyes? Still wandering why we called him that? / Then go in for the LARGE view to see the size of that eye of his. He was watching us watching him!
