Travelled to another section of the Mount Burr Forest today and found single ladybirds on nearly every section of fern. Dark and unlit back section of the forest where minimal lighting existed and these little beauties made every attempt to be where that limited light shone through. Could have spent hours watching them crawling to and fro through the ferns…..... Canon 400D Sigma 120 – 300 macro.

Dragonfly in flight
The Comma (Nymphalis c-album) is a species of butterfly, common in the United Kingdom and with a distribution across Europe and temperate Asia to Japan and south to Morocco. Similar species are found in the United States and Canada. It has a white marking on its underwings resembling a comma. The wings have a distinctive ragged edge, apparently a cryptic form as the butterfly resembles a fallen leaf. Nikon D80 – Sigma 105 DG Macro lens at f/5.6
