  • Took this in my backyard. I followed her around the yard for half an hour. I don’t know which of us was more patient with the other, but she finally posed for this quick capture.

  • One of my favorite shots. It comes with a funny story – it was photographed in a front garden of a house not far from my home. The lady living in the ground floor encouraged me in taking few shots there, and as I did so, I got chased out five minutes later by the man on the first floor. Luckily, I´ve managed to take few great shots by that time, including this one.

Post work in Photoshop included levels and cleaning up of the petals … since I don’t use pesticides the Japanese Beetles and a few others do some pretty serious munching.

Best on Full Size Having some fun with the macro/micro lens in my garden (Montgomery County, Maryland) the other day, August 3, 2009, I found this darling little critter (thought she was a grasshopper but have been told by wiser heads than mine that she’s a Katy-Did) enjoying brunch. Loved the way she munched away on the flower thingie like a cob of hot buttered corn!!!! Handheld image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 60mm Nikon macro/micro lens. Shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.33, iso 200. Minor cropping and levels work in Photoshop.
