  • Caught this guy hanging out on my backdoor screen!

  • This hoverfly mistakenly wandered into the forbidden “hippie section” of my backyard garden!

  • I was looking for subjects to Photograph in my Parents’ garden and was about to put my Camera away when my Mum reminded me that there was a nest of Paper Wasps just above the door of the grannyflat in their house. I climbed up on to a ladder and slowly moved toward the Wasps. They weren’t at all fazed by my presence. I fired a test flash and they didn’t seem to care at all. Once I knew that they were relatively calm, I was able to snap off a few shots. I didn’t stay too long though, as I didn’t want to find out if their patience would wear thin! This shot was by far the best one of the day.

  • This guy got a little carried away at this afternoon’s pollen party !

  • This yellow flower crab spider sits motionless on yellow flowers and then surprises it’s prey. Here, a helpless bee is easy pickens . The yellow flower crab spider blends in seemlessly in yellow flowers, and is practically invisible to the naked eye. I checked in on this guy all day. He sat patiently for 12 hours, until the moment was just right. He uses no webs-just camouflage and precision timing! / Nature is amazing! (Windsor, CT.)

  • I love ladybirds – ladybeetles – ladybugs, whatever you wish to call them. Sadly, they seem to be quite sparse in our gardens this year so finding one (let alone two) is a great thrill for me for these days :o) Bugs are Beautiful / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

  • I’ve entered the word of layering images and it is SO MUCH FUN! After my first week of practice this is the first creation I felt was worthy of upload to RB. This work of art includes the combination of 2 images – a monarch butterfly, and a black-eyed susan. I enhanced the colors in 3 sections of the monarch’s wing to tie the colors in the composition together and purposely made the butterfly smaller than life. I have entered an entirely new world here and am excited at the possibilities that lie ahead as I search through my extensive collection of images for future works :o) / / Original floral image. / / FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

  • As it started to rain, I thought to myself, “if he’s sticking around, then so am I. As the rain drops started piling up on both of us, I managed to capture this pretty scene before the real deluge began !

  • Neither the mantis nor myself were smart enough to come out of the rain, so we just hung out together until the brief sunshower passed us by !

  • A lot of ‘ladies’ came out of hiding this weekend with the beautiful, warm temperatures we had. I searched high & low almost all summer looking for ladybirds and found just a few. This weekend made up for it, however, as they were EVERYWHERE! / / Bugs are Beautiful / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST
