Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery White-Browed Scrubwren Mt Wilson, near the Blue Mountains, New South Wales. Straight from the Camera – As Is – Canon 350D White-Browed Scrubwren (Sericornis frontalis) White-browed Scrubwrens are mostly dark olive-brown above, while the throat is buffy grey and the flanks, belly and rump are dull rufous. They have a white line above the eye and another below the eye. The area around the eye between the lines is black, becoming greyer near the ear. The eye is light cream. Males and females are similar, but the females are slightly duller, particularly on the face. Subtropical and tropical populations are more yellow underneath, males having an almost black facial mask. Other populations along the southern coastline have dark streaking on the throat. The birds measure 11cm – 13cm. The call is an almost persistent harsh chattering of scalding notes, especially when disturbed. White-browed Scrubwrens are also accomplished mimics.

by Magnum1975This is a shot that I took years ago on FILM. Hard to believe how long ago this is now. This is one of my grandmothers stock horses that she bred herself. They used to go catch wild horses in the interior of BC to bring in new blood to the herd. This is one of 2 remaining mares of the herd. At the time of this shot she was about 25 years old, very grass foundered and looking like a stallion. She lived to be about 30 years old. Her half sister made it to 35. /
