The shores and plains of Lake Nakuru in Kenya. The thin white line along the horizon is ribbon of flamingoes lining the lake.
At nearby Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota you can get close up and intimate with the herds of wild bison….but not too close. They can be crabby and don’t think twice about putting a dent in your car if provoked…...

Each individual envisions their desires represented visually in a different way – for me I see old Native American story tellers, Wise Men or Shamans as keepers of the wisdom in how to live life as a true Human Being… 24×28-inch – Water-soluble oils on handmade textured panel

Taken in Vietnam in a small village up in the northern area. He was obviously very attached to his buffalo and climbed on her back and posed for me but I rather liked this one afterwards where he was about to go and just gave her one more pat before heading off.
Old rogue buffalo on the prairie..when they get old and tired they go off on their own away from the herd. It seems so sad…these majestic animals outcast from the herd…. This is a collaboration with Donmiguel. He did the fractalius treatment on this, I took the photo. It is his work that made it worthy of being posted here! Here is another of several works in a series this one is called Buffalo Heart. / This looks like it will turn into a short story about the heart of the “The People” This is my story and is a continuing saga and it started “circa” the beginning of the creation of “The People”, and after many aeons is a still unfolding story. Here is my calling card so to speak and is simple and to the point for I am the Heart of “The People” and as long as I remain here I will forever be the heart of “The People” / For we are connected and as I live so they live. Become one with that which is around you that which is within you and that which is you and you will feel the Heart and then the beat will also come to you as you become one with your Mother the Earth. / Allow the energies of the Earth Mother and myself to help you on your journey on this red road and that our energies will help you heal that which hurts you and we will always walk beside you on your journey to help you in this life and beyond. Not to good at writing but will do my best here folks.

An October day in the Grand Tetons. Taken a year ago today.
This painting is acrylic on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. It is 14”w x 11”h. When you live in West Texas, you live right next door to New Mexico and you spend a lot of vacation time there. I have spent plenty of time in the galleries of Santa Fe and Taos studying the various paintings there looking for inspiration. I haven’t been able to travel there in a few years, but years ago in Santa Fe and Taos, there were many, many images of the Buffalo or Bison which once roamed freely over the entire North American Southwest. Many of these paintings depicted the buffalo with breathtaking realism and beauty. I studied these paintings in the galleries in hopes that I could paint the buffalo with such realism and beauty—I can’t. I can only paint what I paint in the style that I paint which is closer to the ancient primitive images than to the modern realistic images.
