This version shows 11 heads and 8 principal arms, no way i was going to attempt to draw the other 992 arms. Om Mani Padmi Hum, (The Jewel in the Lotus), mantra of Avalokiteshvara, is shown at the bottom in Tibetan script. Tara is the Tibetan Buddhist feminine half of Buddha. In this piece I drew White Tara as she is the aspect of Tara that is compassionate and sensitive. I believe White Tara is crying a river of tears right now. I wonder if she will get tired of crying and give up on her children. When will we stop playing war games and treat one another with compassion? / There was also a report on the Gyuto Monks Tantric Choir. Sukhothai was the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. It has a number of fine monuments, illustrating the beginnings of Thai architecture. The great civilization which evolved in the Kingdom of Sukhothai absorbed numerous influences and ancient local traditions; the rapid assimilation of all these elements forged what is known as the ‘Sukhothai style’.
