These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

RB’s challenge “Substance of things not seen” inspired many questions of how to convey and/or observe what we cannot see, let alone create a piece of art. / Then, while listening to our CD player shuffle, this song played…Colors of the Wind / You think you own whatever land you land on / Earth is just a dead thing you can claim / But I know every rock and tree and creature / Has a life, has a spirit, has a name / You think the only people who are people / Are the people who look and think like you / But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger / You learn things you never knew / You never knew / Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? / Or ask the grinning bobcat why he grinned / Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? / Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? / Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? / Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest / Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth / Come roll in all the riches all around you / And for once never wonder what they’re worth / The rainstorm and the river are my brothers / And the heron and the otter are my friends / And we are all connected to each other / In a circle in a hoop that never ends / Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? / or let the eagle tell you where hes been / can you sing with all the voices of the mountain / can you paint with all the colors of the wind / can you paint with all the colors of the wind / How high does the sycamore grow / If you cut it down, then you’ll never know / And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon / For whether we are white or copper – skinned / We just sing with all the voices of the mountain / Need to paint with all the colors of the wind / You can own the earth and still / All you’ll own is earth until / You can paint with all colors of the wind. Not leaving well enough alone, I ventured into googling and found an amazing photograph (hven.swarthmore.edu) of a Wind Bubble and began searching more of the Stellar Winds ~ this all seemed to fit, so I sketched a female figure being blown by the wind and layered it atop the Wind Bubble, editing a little more with the Redfield fractilius plug-in to bring the force of the wind alive with evidence of its power, though unseen… “Thought is the Wind, knowledge the sail, and mankind the vessel. ” August Hare

It is my deepest feeling that redbubble and all the beautiful and talented heARTists that I have shared over a year with, has changed my life, perspectives and thoughts about cyberspace. / Just wanted you all to know You are (were) Loved Photograph of bubbles blown by my husband and I, edited in photoshop7 with color saturation, redfield fractilius plug-in and text ( a poem I wrote last month). A better tomorrow is in each of our hands / within our grasps, if we choose to understand Everything changes and will come to an end / inevitable in our life’s relation with family and friends Some things will and some won’t go according to plan / intentions don’t matter and no exceptions for fellowman Life, as we perceive it, will not always seem fair / especially when ego uses drama’s fear to scare Pain of some consequence is part of life too / body and mind distressed with the aching loss of virtue People are not loving and loyal all the time / is a truth to be embraced, as we continue to climb To the heights of our spirit, we’ll echo passing on this light / of peaceful love in our hearts and hands to share this insight. 6/15/2009 tkrosevear Thanks for being here and creating an ECHO in my heart and life ♥

I think so!!! This is a weird and wonderful Fossa (cryptoprocta ferox), native to Madagascar and also known as a Madagascan Civet. It is about the size of a large dog, is carnivorous and is related to the mongoose. Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f/4

Twas amazing floating around in the water next to you my dear, the silence was comfortable, but why, my dear, did you not say you could not swim? It was great to be back in the water to take underwater shots again, had to wait a year almost! / But this shot is inspired by a brilliant South African band called Dear Reader. This song is a poignant song with a double twist. It is about apartheid and the seperation between the two races and how black and whites couldn’t be in love… who prevents love? It shows how hearts were torn apart due to the inhumane time in South Africa.
