Hello, Grant has been working on the BubbleSites...
Hello, Grant has been working on the BubbleSites for months now – and he’s keen to see the fruits of his hard work out there on the ‘Internets’. So today we’re taking the wrap off the BubbleSites and making it generally available. The thinking behind the BubbleSites is to provide you with a very clean, simple personal gallery website. Your BubbleSite is free of anyone else’s branding or artwork, and you control the content. The BubbleSites are one small step towards our vision for RedBubble. We can’t possibly hope to do everything for everyone with one website, so we’re looking to make RedBubble more flexible. We want to allow people to use RedBubble in different ways. Some folks want to use RedBubble as a place to send their customers. With the current website your customers land on a profile page, but there’s lots of distractions. BubbleSites provide a much more focused experience, for those who want it. We’re still doing lots of work on the BubbleSites, so expect to see more changes in the near future. In particular we’re working right now on giving people the ability to change the background color. If you’ve got any feedback or suggestions please wander over to the feedback forum and type away. This week we’ve also made some small changes elsewhere on RB. Images in challenges are no longer cropped (our challenge software is currently under beta testing – see here for a few example challenges). For those with a technical mind we’ve embedded hidden copyright information into every large image displayed on RedBubble – this means that if somone downloads a large image off RedBubble it can always be traced back to you. By default we’ve inserted your name and profile URL into each image, but you can change this on your edit profile page (down towards the bottom of the screen). That’s it for this week – thanks Grant for all your hard work! Here’s a picture of the man (and my favorite Grant t-shirt): Cheers, Peter

I have started work on my new bubblesite as most people are doing the same I thought it maybe a good idea to put a quick link to your bubblesite on your profile for people to easily follow. The steps are pretty simple: Navigate to edit your profile and in the About you box below any writing you have done enter the following code (star) which makes the text bold / then the words Quick link to my Bubblesite / space / then a “(speech mark) / then the word here / followed by a *(star) and a “(speech mark) then a :(colon) next the tricky bit navigate to your bubblesite and copy the address from the address bar at the top of your browser eg mine is http://spottydog06.redbubble.com/ and insert after the :(colon) without a space! Then click Save Changes please note do not enter spaces where I have not told you to! It should now look like this…..... Quick link to my Bubblesite here* Oh if you have followed the steps above and it works, take a look at my site and leave feedback on anything you like. Hope this has helped. Paul ps I hope the code I entered dosnt totally screw up this journal entry lol ok the star didnt quite work, glad I wrote the word star :) ps the star symbol is on your mumber pad and used as the multiply symbol ;)
This calendar has been created with the sellection of monochrome from my bubblesite.

Here is the Classic number counter / I have one on my Bubble Page I got it from http://www.digits.com / Go to digits.com and create your web counter, They will e-mail you your information it will look similar to below / Please note: all web counters have their own web counter numbers and You must link to their web site. / and Please remember: If you are using the free counter services, you must to credit the Web-Counter somewhere on your home-page by using its name and/or logo and with a HTML link It must be linked to their web site or it will stop working / / The text in the above image in red is what you will use to make the counter / First the image location / http://counter.digits.com/?counter={the counter id numbers}&template=simple So it will look like below / !http://counter.digits.com/?counter={the counter id numbers}&template=simple!: http//www.digits.com / Remember no Spaces between the ! & : / Don’t forget to link to their website with one of their images or it will stop working / Make the counter invisible To visitors by adding the color code that matches the theme color that you are using like below / !http://counter.digits.com/?counter={the counter id numbers}&template=simple&foreground=oooooo!:http//www.digits.com / Color codes for black add &forground=000000 / for white add &forground=ffffff / and for grey add &forground=cccccc Happy Bubbling / Dan / Get the Firefox and Internet Explorer Tool bar for Redbubble Here / See more info See all my How-to’s Here Includes “Framed image on Bubblesite home page”, “Adding Calendars to your bubblesite”, “feedjit Live Traffic Feed”, “Using tags on Redbubble”, “Add a visitor counter to your bubblesite or profile page” and More Please don’t Copy and paste this written work as that would really hurt my feelings :) / you can copy the link below and paste it if you would like to share with others on Redbubble / "Add a visitor counter to your bubblesite or profile page":http://www.redbubble.com/people/envelope150/journal/1856790-tutorial-add-a-visitor-counter-to-your-bubblesite-or-profile-page / or on the web / <a href="http://www.redbubble.com/people/envelope150/journal/1856790-tutorial-add-a-visitor-counter-to-your-bubblesite-or-profile-page">Add a visitor counter to your bubblesite or profile page</a> /

Adding a slide show to redbubble Ok not really a slide show but it is very close, It’s an animated gif image. / You can see one My Bubblesite These images can also be linked / Doing this will require you to have software that can make an animated gif image. / And of coarse I know of a free software program that can be used and this tutorial will explain how to do this using this free software. The free software is called / unfreeze and you can Get it here / Once downloaded and installed on your / computer we are ready to go. The first step is to get the images you want to include in your slide show, I am going to use my redbubble images set in frames for my bubblesite homepage. Sign-in to your redbubble account Click “My Bubble” then “Art” find the image you want to include and click the “show public view” Now click the “buy/preview” button / Select the product format you want to use Card, Laminated print, etc.. Then save the image to your computer. Internet Explorer users “Right Click” the image and select “Save Picture As” / Firefox users “Right Click” and select “Save image as” / And choose a location on your PC where you can find it easily. / You can use as many images as you want, but remember you want them to visit your gallery so keep the number of images to a minimum. / I’m going to use 8 images for now. / You can re size your images if you like the Unfreeze software will resize your images to fit in a 375 pixels(high) X 360 pixels(wide) box but the software will not center the image. For those that want their images centered in the box, Use your photo software to edit the images / The software program (unfreeze) that I recommended above requires the images to be in gif format. Doing this in your photo software may be different than mine. But I will open the image in my photo software “Paint.net” and then click the “Save as” option and change the format (type) to gif ( Graphics Interchange Format). They will be saved in the same folder that I put the ones I downloaded from the bubble. Once the images are in the gif format. We are ready to create the animated gif (slideshow) Open the folder where your gif images are located Start “unfreeze” a small window will appear / Drag your images into the white window Then set the delay on the right, I used 60, Make sure the “Loop animation” box is checked Now click the “Make Animated Gif” button Give it a name and Click “Save” To make the images change slower add more than one of the same file The image that I created here was made using three copies of the same image, delay set to 90 / Example: drag and drop “image1.gif”,then do it again drag and drop “image1.gif “ This one has four of the same images and delay set to 60 Now the image can be uploaded to a web site, since Redbubble does not support this file type. You can use Dropbox which is a free file store, share, sync software Get it Here it allows you to have 2 gig of file storage for free. Plus when I change the slide show gif I just created dropbox will take care of the rest. / So changing my slide show is as easy as making a new one and saving it using the same location and name on my pc as the one I’m using now. / Now Insert the new image on your bubblesite or profile / Use the image location (web address, web url) with a ! before and after the image location / For more on Linking images etc. see this post How to Customize Redbubble / And your done. / You can also include these in your description boxes these have been reduced in size A great way to promote your calendars on your bubblesite remember these images can be linked to the buy page. / Happy Bubbling / Dan / Get the Firefox and Internet Explorer Tool bar for Redbubble Here / See more info See all my How-to’s Here Includes “Framed image on Bubblesite home page”, “Adding Calendars to your bubblesite”, “feedjit Live Traffic Feed”, “Using tags on Redbubble”, “Add a visitor counter to your bubblesite or profile page” and More © D R Moore This written work cannot be reproduced or posted on the web without my written permission

It is possible to add a very useful tool to every site (RedBubble Profile, Bubblesite, any Art-site or T-Shirt-site…) to see directly and live, who is visiting you…. :) For me it is very informative…..... maybe for you too…....... Now I will describe how to do this…........... You have to go here to FEEDJIT and you will see there in frames, under “Cut and paste the code below into any HTML page for your own instant Live Traffic Feed” a code, looking for example like this: < a href=”http://feedjit.com/ir1/5ceae12346ade7ae/”>< img src=”http://feedjit.com/b/5ceae12346ade7ae.png” alt=”” ISMAP />< /a> Just copy it, paste to the site where you want to see your visitors (write it for example in your comments of a new photo, which you have just posted)... Now you have to copy the last html-address (in this example: http://feedjit.com/b/5ceae12346ade7ae.png) and use it as a “normal” picture you want to post… Just write it between two exclamation marks: ! http://feedjit.com/b/5ceae12346ade7ae.png! (without the empty space….) Now you add the first html-address from Feedjit and use it like a link (in our example: http://feedjit.com/ir1/5ceae12346ade7ae/).... You write it after the picture address after a double point…. And it looks like this: ! http://feedjit.com/b/5ceae12346ade7ae.png!:http://feedjit.com/ir1/5ceae12346ade7ae/ (without the empty space….) It will work and show you your visitors…. When you go to: WATCH LIVE, you can remove your IP, and you don’t see yourself, just the other visitors….. Use for every new site a new code, which you can generate clicking FEEDJIT again…. When you have BLOGGER or TYPEPAD BLOG, you can add this tool to your blogsite too (just click here) and you will get even much more useful informations: for example from which site the visitor is coming, or which site he is using to leave your blogsite…. you even can see which words he is typing in google looking for your blogsite… very cool!......... Because of this adaptation to work this tool here at RedBubble some informations are lost, but anyway, you still can see live your visitors, not only as a number, but as a live feed….................. I love this tool! Try it too…... With a lot o greetings Nuh Sarche Read also: Free buttons for your website… or Little helper to write nice comments… or Use a descreet visitors counter and see informative statistics… Who’s among us?

This how-to will explain how to use a Framed image or laminated print etc as your Bubblesite home page image / I will use a framed image for this example. First step was to Find the image I wanted to use,Then I added a Frame and Picked the matte color. Now It needs to be downloaded to your computer To Do This (in Firefox)Right click the image and choose “Save Image As” I Labeled My New image as “HomePage Image” and saved it to my Desktop. I show you here some tricks, how to sell more… But first some basics…. Don’t forget, that you are selling to real customers, not other RedBubblers (even when it sometimes happens…) And because of this, the customer has to find you, when you didn’t call his attention on your own, already…. And how he finds you…. mostly through Google of course. That’s why it is so important, that you tag your work right… But even when you do this, it needs a little trick, that the customer also sees your work… Here an example: When I look for my work at Google and type for example “Shirt Allah”, I will see this pictures And what did I found? I really have found some of my shirts… This is great! But when you click at the pictures, you will find a little trick behind this…. When you click at the pictures, you will see, that what appears, is not the original t-shirt picture, but pictures, which I have copied to the description at the right side… And why is it so… Because, Google (only) shows the pictures, which you have in your descriptions and comments! When I would not have this shirt-pictures in my description, so noone would ever find my shirts… And this is the trick: Put pictures of other work in your description (of same theme as your main work)... And do it in that way, that everyone can already see the whole product, not only the design or the photography, because this doesn’t attract the customer… just another picture next to others… And another small trick: Link the pictures not to your art-main page, but directly to the selling site It saves the time of the customer… he doesn’t need to read all the comments of other RedBubblers, when he just wants to buy something… And don’t forget, that: The pictures in descriptions are visible at your BubbleSite... So when you also put in your comments a big detail-picture of your work, it maybe will appear more attractive and shows the great quality of your work… I wish you a lot of sells… Nuh Sarche Read also How I promote my work outside in the real world................ or You can see live, who visits your site if you want… or Do you know the Google Translator…???

This tutorial will help you set up your own personal gallery, also known in RB-land as a bubblesite. If you are not sure what a bubblesite is, then use the link to take a look at my personal gallery of images known as Bucks Mountain Galleries. HINT: I always recommend that you print out tutorial instructions so that you don’t have to flip back and forth between screens. Now, let’s get started! SET UP YOUR SITE: “Click on “My Bubble” On the 2nd menu row, look to the far right and click on “Bubblesite” (2nd button from the right). The “Bubblesite Setup” page will appear. BUBBLESITE SETUP Site title: Type the name of your gallery Home Page Image: Click on the down arrow on the right side of the box and choose an image from the group of images you have uploaded to Redbubble. This will be a large image that will appear on your gallery home page. Choose one of your best images, one that will leave visitors wanting to see more. Home Page Content: This is the first page visitors will see. Type something that will catch their attention. Add a quote or write something about your photography business. You can also add links or an additional image. These are only suggestions, be creative and write what you think will be best as the first impression. About Page Content: A place to type something about yourself and add contact information such as an additional email address or web address. These are only suggestions, so be creative and write what you think will be best. Choose a site theme: You have three color choices for your gallery pages. Choose the one that best suits you. Black on White / White on Black / Grey on Biege IMPORTANT: At the bottom right side of the page, click “Save Changes”. MANAGE YOUR IMAGE GALLERY Make sure you saved the information in Step 1, Bubblesite setup. Now it is time to manage your image gallery. Go back to the top of the page and click on the blue underlined link “Manage the Gallery”. Your Library – Your published images are listed here. If you have images on Redbubble that are not for sale, then you will not be able to put them in the gallery. Only images for sale can be added to the gallery. NOTE: Right now only tee designs and images can be added to your gallery. Calendars cannot be added at this time. In the left hand column under Your Library, you can name your first gallery set. HINT: Give some thought to how you want your gallery to be arranged. At this time, RB does not give you the capability to re-arrange your gallery titles/folders after you are done. So you might want to write down your categories and decide the order you want them to appear before getting started. Click on the words, new set, in the box. We’ll use Landscapes as an example for the first gallery set/folder. Type the word, Landscapes (or whatever title you prefer). A new site, and sometimes one we’ve been on awhile, can be overwhelming if we don’t know how to get around. If you are not computer savvy, it can even be more difficult. Since I belong to Redbubble SCOUTS, and have been welcoming and encouraging new RB artists, thought I might put it out there to help make this site a little easier to get around and understand. / Once you’ve opened an account, if you don’t have a picture uploaded, your icon will simply be a red bubble in a character comment blip – NOTE: if you want to make sales, a picture of yourself always lets the customer connect to you and your work. / OVERVIEW Page / I call this page the ‘catch up page’, since all your activity shows up on the feed. / On the left side of the page is usually those you’ve added to your watchlist and their uploads, any commentary on your work, replies to your commentary – ALL check marked if you have looked at those pages, replied and the feed type is gray, rather than the blue links if you have already responded. NOTE: on the right side of the page, you can configure what you wish to show up on your ACTIVITY FEED, by clicking onto Filter activity Feed. Comments: when someone comments on your work, you can reply (click) and they will receive a feed that you responded – if they are rude (click report) or delete (if you wish to report, do this first before deleting)– when you just comment below you will be the only one who knows. / On the Right side of the OVERVIEW page is: / Add Work – clicking here scrolls down Art, T-shirts, Calendars, Writing & Journals / Filter Activity Feed – as mentioned above, you can configure this feed to be included on your Daily Activity, or just check on the lists for features, favorites and all the other goodies mentioned therein. / Sales History – RB always stays on top of your sales and lists what you’ve sold and how much you’ve profited. / Edit Profile Page – clicking here lets you build your profile to maximize your friends and customers to know who you are and what your art is about. Profile Page: your URL for your profile will be www.redbubble.com/people/yourname to edit this page, you can add links to other sites and pictures like instructed above, in the describe yourself box. The daily feed question request has been helpful to me, not having to sign in daily. They’ll send you an email of your daily activity – you click onto any underlined feature, activity or comment and you are there – I save them in my email inbox, until I receive the next one. / View Profile – lets you see your finished product for marketing yourself and your art. / Below that gray colored feed is a list of any and all GROUPS that you belong to, including whether or not you are participating in a challenge, including vote counts. Groups: join the ones you feel you can get the most exposure and follow their specific rules, you can click onto anyone in your watchlists’ list of groups to seek commonalities. Or, while looking at artwork posted by others, on the right side where the description is – below are underlined groups that have accepted the artwork and you can click those to learn more. Challenges: RB just made most of the challenges really very easy as the group will send notice in your overview feed, click onto enter now and all the work you have uploaded will show up to chose from for entering; note whether they require a TAG, you may need to edit before entering. They have not yet mastered entering “writing” works, most groups do it in forums. / The next box down is Redbubble Community News, always interesting tidbits for the benefit of the community at large. / If you are into FORUMS, the next section lists your Watched Topics, the forums you have the most interest in watching. Across the top of your page are small buttons, their functions are: / ACCOUNT – edit profile, change portrait (icon), edit addresses for payment, accepting user agreement, edit payment details, viewing sales, change password and/or cancelling account. / ART – from here you can either add a new piece of Artwork or view all the art you have uploaded so far, details of total amount of ART & views can be seen at the top OR each artwork shows sales, comments, favorites and views of each individual piece. NOTE: the top 6 artworks show on your profile page and you can move these around according to the arrows at the far right side. You can also click onto ‘edit’ from this page on any individual artworks. Image Sizes: For all sale items except clothing and calendars, the size of images uploaded should be 2500×3500, then in the ‘Items for sale’ section (below tags), you can check all: cards, mounted print, laminated print, canvas print, framed print and posters for sale. If someone requests Large prints, medium & large posters or laminated prints and/or calendars you can then upload a larger image. / T-Shirts – the same as ART applies to Tees. You can save RB’s T-shirt template in your files – the size for the templates are: 2400×3200. In photoshop7, I open template, then add new layer, then open picture file I wish to transfer design, apply, edit the remove the original template and save the completed file as PNG. / Writings – since writings are not for sale, all but sales applies to your creative, poetic or short stories here with views, favorites and comments noted. / Calendars – Same applies here / Journals – all the same notations appear here for your announcements, daily going’s on, features, how-to’s and writings that are different than above. / Watchlist – all you have added as friends, co-artists/writers will appear here – you can also remove them from here. Add people you feel share the same tastes in artwork for support – by clicking on names of commenters, bubblemailers or checking my watchlist and reading profiles, seeing artwork & groups in common. / Favorites – this is where all your favorite art, writings will appear from other artists / Promote – here you will find sales widgets, slideshows, banners, images of your work with links to buy from RB, badges, buttons and links ALL to promote your redbubble works off of the site. / Bubblesite – here is where you can set-up, manage and view your personal bubblesite, different than your profile page. Bubblesite/Gallery: this URL is different than your Profile page it would be http://yourname.redbubble.com – you can click this tab on your page to build and manage it as you add artwork – I suggest you get used to some of the above, so you have optimum pricing and exposure for items for sale. The templates are easy and to manage, you click and drag your artwork into categories you chose. Customers can buy directly from your gallery, without being redbubble members, or you can simply share the URL with friends to see your photos. Written works are not included in the gallery, but all photos uploaded for sale will automatically be in the Manage section to be added to the categories you move them to, I manage my gallery once weekly. / Bubblemail – redbubble members communications Add Images: (description boxes, comments, profile page) / 1. Upload Image, Title, Description, Tags, Groups & Items for sale – SAVE / 2.
