A commission for my sister of 3 different beach views. the shore because we used to love beach combing for shells when we were children… still do,... the surface of the water for her love of swimming and a huge wave because her husband loves to surf. (I’ve tried to get a better image of them for you guys, hows that?)
Just a bit of fun. The fish are clipart images that I have copied and flipped etc. The rest is a compilation of my images.
At the south western tip of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia is the wonderful Innes National Park which has some of the best surf beaches in the state. Paying a visit on a very rough and windy day, I looked over the cliff edge and spotted this view… the ledge is some 10’s of metres above the surf and has many little pockets of salt water in it.
/ Early morning, sun shining on the Spanish sea & a lone boat shows it’s sails & cuts through the calm waters…Great image to sit on the rocks & gaze at…Orihuela Costa, Spain at Easter 2008…
Part of series “Earth Watch”. Airbrush and pencil.
Lifen is an enchanting and magical water creature known as a mermaid. Her black hair is decorated with a beautiful blue bow. She has a flowing top of blue seaweed, lovely blue tail and fins, and a blue pearl belt. Lifen the mermaid is petting her dolphin friend and holding a seashell as they play near the sandy golden ocean floor that is decorated with green seaweed plants, red corals, purple sea urchins that blow bubbles, and lovely seashells of white and brown stripes.
Painting on silk using specialized paints. / Techniques include resist outline, wet-in-wet and salt.
A fractal created using one of my recently discovered bubble variations. If you’re interested in recreating this type of bubble on apophysis, I made a tutorial for it. Its found here – http://nightmares06.deviantart.com/art/Bubble-Variation-Tutorial-89801629 and was very fun to make!
This red algae has an other worldly quality that makes it a unique look for tees!
Well, not really but it sounded good – at least for those who’ve read Macbeth LOL. Please also check out Heathers wonderful image High Seas Beckoning because it’s superb!

A bubble bath after work is every fisherman’s dream.
I find fizz in my soda drink / I find fizz on wave’s folding brink / I find fizz in my kitchen sink / I find fizz everywhere I think / / And now I read there’s fizz between / The subatomic parts unseen / There’s even fizz in my cuisine / Everywhere this fizz has been / / I’m sure that we could all attest / If fizz were stock you could invest / World markets would not be depressed / And even Pope would see fizz blessed / / The best fizz is that one you drop / In water glass with a ‘plop-plop’ / That helps your damned old heartburn stop / From greasy spoon where you ate slop / / This fractal artwork was inspired after reading an article on ‘quantum foam’ in a quantum physics paper. ‘Fizz’ is defined as ‘to become bubbly or frothy or foaming’ or ‘to have effervescence or sparkle’. It seems we are surrounded by fizz at all levels, from subatomic physics to interstellar space. That being the case, I felt it was worthy of an artwork and poem. / / The original is 3600×3000 pixels at 300 pixels per inch. It was created in Apophysis 3D Hack. The gradient was created in ApoMap, a gradient editor commonly used with Apophysis. The fractal was created as a transparency and then used as a layer in Photoshop post-processing. The background gradient was created in Photoshop. The post processing was all done in Photoshop as well. Because the original is so large and difficult to see over the internet, I have included a couple of detail cutaways below. / / / / / /

Taken at Southwold 9.40am late Novemebr 09 I just loved the bubbles leavet behind as the waves drew back into the sea and the mixture of textures and colours. Nikon D90 and 18-105vr lens Focal length 28mm / F/. 4 / Exposure 1/1000 sec / ISo 200 / D-lighting low Hand held, Aperture Priority, D-lighting set to low, not used this before seeing what it would do in the very bright winter sun. / Processed in Nikon Efex pro 3 complete, in toanl contrast to bring out the bubbles a little more.
