This is one of my most loved pieces. It is a very popular art work, and I could never part with it, so I’ve decided to sell it as prints and t-shirts. / It was painted with acrylic on canvas. The original is approximately 13(cm)x18(cm). / It was painted on 14 July 2006. This was my first attempt at a vintage nude! I am a great fan of vintage nude art work; photography and paintings. Moles are members of the mammal family Talpidae in the order Soricomorpha. Moles live underground and burrow holes. Some species are aquatic or semi-aquatic. The Carolina wren is among my favorite birds. I love the way it holds its tail straight up in the air and the way it sings so loudly. You’d never expect such a tiny bird to be able to belt out the songs it does! I also like its scowl; it always appears to be grumpy about something. A little bird that’s big on personality, that’s for sure. Another thing I like about wrens is the way they build tiny igloo type nests inside potted plants like ferns and such. I’ve often watered ferns and was almost hit in the face by a fleeing wren. When something goes awry, like a snake showing up where it doesn’t belong, they sound a warning. If ever you hear a wren chirping loudly and complaining incessantly, you’d better check things out; it’s probably trying to point out some danger. This little wren was sitting on the wall of my patio looking for something to nibble on. He gave me all of two seconds to snap his photo and then he was off like a jet.

I just love Carolina wrens; they are perky and bursting with personality. This one seemed to be saying, “Chin up!” Makes me cheerful just to see him. The Carolina wren is known for its jaunty little poses, its upright tail, its distinctively long white eyebrow, and most of all its LOUD song! This little bird can belt out some tunes! Their movements are rapid and erratic and unlike some songbirds that linger at the feeders, the Carolina wren usually is very hasty about getting its grub and leaving abruptly which makes it hard to photograph as a result. Though they have occasionally made nests in nesting boxes, they seem to prefer hanging baskets for their domain. They build little igloo-like dwellings lined with soft mosses and lichens cleverly concealed within a fern or other such plants. Usually, the first time I notice their presence in one of my hanging baskets is during a routine watering when the wren comes charging out of hiding, sometimes barely missing my head! A cute little neighbor all around!
