  • Back in the deep summer, when all were in blossom and the leaves were rich in color and taste, the doe had plenty of time to experience the “other things” in life than just search for food. One day she decided to figure out what creature it was that I carried around with me and pushed at the top of the “head” from time to time to make a sound. She came so close to the lens that I had to quickly change to a wide-angle one in order to take this photo. Right after that instant, she took another step further to “pat” my “pet” with her tongue! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park

  • This fawn has become one of River’s best friends throughout the summer. When the fall arrived and the leaves were turning golden, she played with my dog-fawn every time we came to the woods. It was a sunny morning. River was lost to the fawn under the tall grass. The fawn stretched out her long neck, making herself look like a giraffe, in order to search for her friend. She also made an almost “puffing-hissing” sound that I seldom hear mule deer make, which River seemed to recognize as a “calling” so she came running to her feet in no time! The “sisters” united right after the picture was taken of my “fawn-giraffe”. :)

  • Over the last summer and fall, I must have taken over a thousand shots of this old buck alone. He was around most of the mornings when River and I were in the woods. Sometimes he was playful, other times very hungry so he simply ignored the camera and kept on eating but this morning he was pensive and wanted a portrait to express just that! I guess I grew quite attached to him!

  • My mule deer family was having an intense discussion about something – I suspected that it was about River who mistook herself for a fawn! :) They knew that the fawns “initiated” her “identity confusion” – not sure River, or most of the fawns, wanted to “fix” it though, as they all seemed to enjoy a “dog-fawn” among them. :)

  • Jesus Christ, The Heir of All Things “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he _made the worlds;” _Hebrews 1:2 Jesus, Jesus, full of all compassion, / Hear Thy humble suppliant’s cry; / Let me know Thy great salvation, / See, I languish, faint and die. Guilty, but with heart relenting, / Overwhelmed with helpless grief, / Prostrate at Thy feet repining, / Send, O send me quick relief. Whither should a wretch be flying, / But to Him Who comfort gives? / Whither, from the dread of dying, / But to Him Who ever lives? While I view Thee, wounded, grieving, / Breathless, on the cursèd tree, / Fain, I’d feel my heart believing, / That Thou sufferedst thus for me. With Thy righteousness and Spirit, / I am more than angels blest; / Heir with Thee, all things inherit, / Peace, and joy, and endless rest. Jesus Christ, The Heir of All Things; Hebrews 1:2 . • “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24 Do you ever stop and think about eternity? As a follower of Jesus Christ I look forward to the day when I will leave this earth and join my Lord in His Kingdom. When my burden seems more than I can bear it encourages me to know that my assignment here is only temporary. It’s to that day when I will join my Lord that I press towards. It seems that life is passing me by at the speed of light these days. Monday blurs into Friday and problems come and go. As I grow older I realize that the only constant thing that I have as I pass through time is the council and wisdom that I receive while reading my Bible and talking with God. His Word gives me peace, makes me strong and gives me eternal perspective. When I listen to God rather than the voices of men things also become much clearer. I give up my desire to run in a worldly race that cannot be won, in order to receive and cherish a gift that no one can ever take away from me- the free gift of eternal life. Lord Jesus, thank you for the joy and promise of eternal life that you have put before me. Thank you for knowing me, for understanding me, and for still loving me. How I long to be with you in paradise. Until that day comes Lord, please have your way with me and lead me patiently through this life as your child. • “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit” Titus 3:5 Believe in the promises of God. Know in the depth of your heart that you can trust God to be true to what He had promised and bring you through your troubles. As a child of Jesus Christ there is absolutely nothing that can occur in our lives that God has not promised to see us through. God is always there to help us when we cannot help ourselves. He is mighty on our behalf. God never sleeps as He watches over us, and no trouble that comes our way can catch Him off guard. Once we accept Christ as our Savior, God is with us, ready to love and help us in our time of need. We have His promise on that! Blessed of God, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ”.
