Aquatint Etching Inspried by the movie ‘Brothers Grimm’ this series of aquatints explores the origin of fairytales and dismisses their sanitization! Here the Gingerbread man runs to envelop the child and become one! “Run, run as fast as he could / he couldn’t escape the / Gingerbread Hood” Yeah I know it’s a lame rhyme but then so am I! The idea of this being a real burn just cracks me up, so i made one in illustrator. It still cracks me up.
Macro rock photography! I found this abstract face in a section of a rocky hill that had been cut away for a driveway. Lots of broken shale and other minerals lying around. I just increased the contrast a little which made the face pop out! Rotate the image and it just looks like a normal rock! Small shadows formed in the late afternoon making wonderful contrasts! Focal length 6mm-20mm. !! /

Aight…..today me and the photoclub people went to the last of the 5 floor-old-type buildings, that are going to be demolished tomorrow. Omg….It was something. People just moved out this week, and most of them left some personal belongings and furniture still, but all of the front doors along with some of the supporting walls, were wrecked by the builders . It was wierd…. entering different sort of rooms, which are stylized in an old, Soviet manner….when people were limited to more or less the same stuff……but then, all the flats and rooms are so unique and individual…. And it was really touching to see old appliences that i havent seen in years lol and old toys, the sort i used to play…vintage wallpapers…house tools, photoes, posters on the walls….Beautiful and different experience it was. Like visiting a ghost city or going back a decade. Well….i was quite surprised when i ented this room, because….the WHOLE WALL was covered with posters of couples and stuff. lol Almost looked like a maniac lived there! Slightly odd. FEATURED!!! In “POSTED: No Trespassing” group! / :))))
A sour old man in a bathrobe. I could draw old men with giant noses in scraggly bathrobes and nothing else for the rest of my life. I adore them. I drew this during my “Business Ethics and Social Responsibility” class. Pen and ink on smooth bristol. The original is available at my website, http://www.kandeart.com
Here’s another from the “Empty Studio”...”It’s You Darling” is an Ink Wash-off creation….I find that I work faster when there is nothing on the table but what I’m using, so that will be another change when I set the room up again…bare table..usually I have lots of materials around me on the table….not any more...see the others in the series below.. Ink wash-Off on Plain Paper…
A portrait painted using a technique I invented to resemble woven tapestry, inspired by the song Melancholy Man Acrylic on Raw Cotton… CLICK HERE FOR MUSIC I’m a melancholy man / That’s what I am / All the world surrounds me / And my feet are on the ground / I’m a very lonely man / Doing what I can / All the world astounds me / And I think I understand / That we’re going / To keep growing / Wait and see / When all the stars are falling down / Into the sea and on the ground / And angry voices carry on the wind / A beam of light will fill your head / And you’ll remember what’s been said / By all the good men this world’s ever known / Another man is what you’ll see / Who looks like you and looks like me / And yet somehow, he will not feel the same / His life caught up in misery / He doesn’t think like you and me / ‘Cause he can’t see what you and I can see / When all the stars are falling down / Into the sea and on the ground / And angry voices carry on the wind / A beam of light will fill your head / And you’ll remember what’s been said / By all the good men this world’s ever known / Another man is what you’ll see / Who looks like you and looks like me / And yet somehow, he will not feel the same / His life caught up in misery / He doesn’t think like you and me / ‘Cause he can’t see what you and I can see Moody Blues
“Sheba” is the latest in my series of “wild” women portraits…I think she is by far the wildest of the lot, but there is also a vulnerability about her that is rarely seen…don’t tangle with her…she can see right through your wiles and will best you every time…see some of the others below...
