  • I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(

  • Okay then well for all of those who have seen my other dandelion shots from a recent series, you will know that this is the same shot used in Breaking Through.. This shot is the original, full-colour version and I have decided to upload it as my girlfriend insists that she likes it better than the sepia toned version, so I thought I’d give it a go.. / I hope you like it and please let me know what you think, comments are more than welcome!

  • I don’t spend much time at home but when I do, I get bored very quickly and this is what I come up with! I’ve always had a fascination with eyes, both in drawing, painting and photography so have decided to explore this further and of course my kids once again were my faithful models! I started my my middle son who has a perfect mix of my (blue) & my hubby’s (brown) eyes. My oldest son says they look like opals so hence the name. I will also upload my other children’s eyes as they all look like jewels to me. Apart from the selective colouring, I have only added some extra saturation and enhanced the contrast.. No actual colour changes were made. I don’t know if I’ll keep them up but will definitely get them in a card at least! Enjoy.

  • Okay, couldn’t help it so I’m adding our dog Maggie’s eye which I also took today while taking photos of the kids. She has the most amazing coloured eyes for a dog so I had to add it…. Enjoy!

  • Oil on canvas, 18” x 14” (457×356mm I’ve borrowed the title of a poem by Samuel Beckett for this painting. • Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens We first came upon Roxy sitting in the middle of the road in front of the ranger station and entry gate to Algonquin Park, northeast side, on the way to Grand Lake. As soon as we parked, she approached us and alternately scampered about the parking lot. / She was so sweet and kept quickly coming close to me to inspect what I was doing as I madly tried to capture her image with the zoom lens I had on the camera. / I loved the gentle inquisitive look in her eyes. I really wanted to pet her but knew better, despite my compulsion to name this little red fox, she is a wild animal with very pointy little teeth. Featured in the Image/Writing group October 2009
