  • Here are my 3 playing at the beach during a storm. I’ve had a bit of a play with colours and liked the end result. I find this quite dreamy and surreal almost.

  • Yes, they are my feet and I’m relaxing on the beach watching the kids play in the water. I gave this image some texture and it reminds me of a very lazy, Aussie summer’s day at the beach.

  • Here are my boys and hubby checking out the clouds before a storm.

  • Here is a photo of my youngest two. My little girl was cold at the beach so her bigger brother gave her cuddles to keep her warm and I was there to catch it.

  • www.cathleentarawhiti.co.nz The boys admiring the local artwork; they inspire me. Children see things that we often miss until we see it through the lens. • Degitally manipulated photograph

  • Here’s a photo I took today of my 3 babies. I can’t believe I actually got a decent shot of them!!! It’s a very rare moment! This photo will be given framed to both sets of Grandparents as a gift..

  • Here is a sunset capture with my two boys. They are very close and are not only brothers but best friends and love doing everything together :o)

  • I don’t spend much time at home but when I do, I get bored very quickly and this is what I come up with! I’ve always had a fascination with eyes, both in drawing, painting and photography so have decided to explore this further and of course my kids once again were my faithful models! I started my my middle son who has a perfect mix of my (blue) & my hubby’s (brown) eyes. My oldest son says they look like opals so hence the name. I will also upload my other children’s eyes as they all look like jewels to me. Apart from the selective colouring, I have only added some extra saturation and enhanced the contrast.. No actual colour changes were made. I don’t know if I’ll keep them up but will definitely get them in a card at least! Enjoy.

  • Okay, couldn’t help it so I’m adding our dog Maggie’s eye which I also took today while taking photos of the kids. She has the most amazing coloured eyes for a dog so I had to add it…. Enjoy!

  • Here I have captured my hubby watching the children while they play in the water during a sunset.

  • All these feet belong to my 3 beautiful kids… I thought I would do an unconventional ‘portrait’ of them! / I have sold 1 x small framed print

  • Here is the approaching storm and my hubby, my 3 babies and me (behind the camera) trying to get away from it! This is a photo that was taken nearly 2 years ago (old point-and-shoot camera), I though I lost it (or deleted it) but found it out of last night and had to share!

  • Even at two years old, Lucy knows how to go for the kill. Of course, it doesn’t look like her little brother minds too much either. In a few years, we’re going to have to start keeping an eye on these two. At least we know they love each other.

FIRST TIME PUBLISHED / When I looked outside my restaurant in Broome I saw two cowboyheads sitting on the tables outside and I had a strong urge to make some photo’s. I spook to the two men they where from Fitzroy Crossing. They where watching a crowd of Indeginous Aboriginal men and women ‘hanging’ outside in the Plaza. They where waiting for the local liquorshop to open, In Fitzroy is now a ‘ban’ on alcohol, they told me, so Fitzroy Crossing is now a ‘dry’ Community Miss. / Broome, Western Australia. / Today I received an email stating; CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR IMAGE ‘TYPAN’ is one of 55 images from the PEOPLE & PLANET International Photo Competition. to be published in the 2009 People&Planet; Social Justice & Enviroment Diary, which will be published this month in Australia (2009). / We thought that your image was incredible, and it won from a pool of OVER 1000 images from 316 photographers from around the World! / All funds raised by the People&Planet diary go to Australia’s small non profit organisations which are working to promote social-justice and environmental substainability around the world. /

  • I found this pic of Meg and Zoe holding Axel’s hand and I couldn’t stop the tears. I knew I had to make something beautiful out of it to remember forever. In our dreams we can be wherever we want to be – I ache to hold my baby boy, to feel his head on my shoulder, his breath on my neck. In my dreams I can hear his wicked chuckle and see him dance again. The Door Imagine if you will, a door / There is nothing special about this door / Its white, with a handle at its centre / Just like any other door Imagine now that the door swings open / Revealing a field of flowers / Spread as far as the eye can see Imagine then that there is a path / Which winds its way through the field / Meandering here and there / With no real purpose And on the path is a gorgeous little boy / His golden hair is mussed in the wind / And his laughter rings out to you across the field You start to call out to him / To call him back / But he is on a journey / To places where you can’t follow Your heart breaks realising you must let him go / That he is strong and brave / Embarking on a never-ending adventure Gently you close the door / Knowing that you can open it at any time / To watch him, to remember / With tears streaming down your face / You whisper “Be safe little one” Inspired by the image Kel created for me after Axel died… Stock image used… Background Image

  • I’m not sure what he thought of him this time, he was 2. / Now at the age of 6, perhaps he is thinking, my brother the biggest head-ache in my life. For one, he beats me up on my head a lot.

  • Yesterday we went fishing, all eleven of us and some friends. At one stage I asked Johnny (11) to carry Reilly (10 months) back to where we were picnicing. This is so typical of how Johnny carries Reilly most of the time, and Reilly just loves it. Can’t think why. ( : Anyway, I’m just glad to have captured this moment, their relationship continuously delights me. • A momentinf time, when My daughter Deliah, and My son Kempton, were actually getting along, had to shoot quick to get this one!

  • This is just for me, I wanted to get all nine of my ridiculously good looking children in one image. All of these portraits were shot in the last week, so this is truly current.
