I thought the contrast was a little harsh on the original version of this work, so I’ve softened the colour by adjusting the balance, and I’ve also added photographic filters. This image was taken early this year while walking along Markeaton Canal. Hope you like the updated version! Thanks, Jen :-) Photography and editing by Jennifer Woodward © 2008

Filling up a glass of water and noticed this out of the kitchen window. Literally ran outside with a t-shirt and slippers on to get this before it went. First few shots were a golden amber in color then it went to this before it disappeared. Only snapped about 30 bracketed shots before it was gone. Gonna go a repot my orchid while this is uploading (and I finished it, thanks dial-up). Hope you like it. Please critique… print available here and on my website. Another of my Watercolours I was happy with. Migrating from Oils to Watercolours is hard as I find Watercolours so permanent. At least in Oils you can fix up and fix up… and fix up. Mind you Watercolours are much quicker so you can always start again. Plus clean up is even better! Painted a couple of years ago so unclear of paper, but my guess is that it was a Medium grain 190gsm Plus I have now put together a Calendar of a few of my favourite works / :

I searched the internet for a really long exposure of Tahquamenon Falls but couldn’t find one. So I figured that my first real shot with my new 10 stop filter would be of this amazing falls. This is a blend of 3 long exposure shots. The first one was 4 minutes, the correctly exposed one was 5 minutes and the bright one was 6 minutes. / Black and white to come soon. / Canon xsi / B+W nd 1000 / B+W CPL
Converted the color long exposure to LAB color and used the lightness channel as a base. Added a cooling filter to give it that icy cool. / Canon XSi / B+W nd1000 / B+W CPL
