The infrared medium gives this small creek a dramatic effect. Taken on a hot Queensland summer day.

This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

I thought the contrast was a little harsh on the original version of this work, so I’ve softened the colour by adjusting the balance, and I’ve also added photographic filters. This image was taken early this year while walking along Markeaton Canal. Hope you like the updated version! Thanks, Jen :-) Photography and editing by Jennifer Woodward © 2008

Cross the river, head left towards the gate ….. an extract from my walkers guide book ….. no mention of the stunning beauty just here ….. I had to pause and drink it all in ….... An orange under-painting of trees in bog. this was an expansion of a tiny picture i found i a national geographic. I really just want to be there climbing trees and swiming with friends. so i panted it bigger with more texture to make it feel more real.
Another of my Watercolours I was happy with. Migrating from Oils to Watercolours is hard as I find Watercolours so permanent. At least in Oils you can fix up and fix up… and fix up. Mind you Watercolours are much quicker so you can always start again. Plus clean up is even better! Painted a couple of years ago so unclear of paper, but my guess is that it was a Medium grain 190gsm
One of the many beautiful waterfalls located in Stoney Brook State Park. I used HDR here to bring out the nice color on the stone while enhancing the water flow. / Nikon D50 / /

I just loved how the sun settled on the bridge and trees in the background and teh nice flow of the waterfall which really led me into this image. Taken in Buttermilk Falls State Park in Ithaca NY. Nikon D90 18-105mm nikon vr. Buttermilk Creek / /
Deep into Buttermilk Falls State Park lies this incredibly beautiful destination. Stunning deep colors, falling leaves from the trees, and the sun peaking its way thru every now and again. True bliss! Ithaca NY’s finest. Nikon D90 /
BigD I am sure you will appreciate this one. This is a shot up the base of Lucifer’s Falls in Robert Treman State Park in Ithaca NY. My left side was getting quite soaked standing on the smallest rock trying to get this shot. Every now adn again I had to wipe off my lens from over spray. Lucky for me it wasnt windy this day otherwise I would not have had a shot at all. It is so cool being jsut an inch or two literally form the the main flow of this massive waterfall.
