  • This is one hell of an old Japanese Maple. It was brought here from Japan around 100 years ago and planted in one the Dandenong Ranges oldest gardens.

  • Acrylic on stretched canvas with powder pigments dry brushed on,The iridescent pigments give it a patina that doesn’t show up as well in a photograph. / . . . / . /

  • Beautiful eastern colours and patterns. Oil painting with mixed media, such as silk painting gutta outliners, with other metallic markers for that extra eastern gleam!

  • Aryclic painting with mixed media, gold and bronze outliners, the original paintings (this one, the magic leaf, what is emerging?, fusion leaf, can you see the face expression? paintings) all have a certain different gleam at every different angle of the light, this was cleverly created from the use of metallic pens, and silk painting gutta outliners that are pearlised, see through and pearly, metallic sequins that were carefully placed at some angles of the paintings.

  • Newcastle Civic Centre. At the north end of the Ceremonial Way, mounted on the Otta slate flank wall forming the link to the Council Chamber, is the majestic bronze sculpture of the River-God Tyne by David Wynne – some sixteen feet (4.8 m) high and two and a quarter tons (2880 kg) in weight which, in its time, was the largest bronze figure to be erected in this country since Rodin’s time. It is further unique in that water pours from his elevated hand drenching the body and symbolising his significance as the allegorical god of the Tyne.

  • / wiki info / Young-Man-Afraid-Of-His-Horses [Tasunkakokipapi], / also translated as His-Horses-Are-Afraid and They-Fear-Even-His-Horses, was a chief of the Oglala Sioux. His name was sometimes misinterpreted, and is meant to mean, roughly, as the man of whose horse we are afraid off meaning that the bearer of the name was so feared in battle that the even the sight of his horse would inspire fear. They-Fear-Even-His-Horses was born in 1830. In 1866, he joined forces as a lieutenant under Red Cloud when the Dakota resisted attempts by the United States government to build the Montana trail through the Sioux hunting grounds of Powder River, resulting in a two year conflict known as Red Cloud’s War. After the peace settlement in 1868, Young-Man-Afraid-Of-His-Horses retired to the Pine Ridge Agency in South Dakota serving as president of the Pine Ridge Indian Council. A strong supporter of friendly relations with the Federal government, he would attend several delegations to Washington, D.C. for improved treatment as well as an acting negotiator with federal authorities to assist the Sioux Nation in adjusting to reservation life before and after the massacre at Wounded Knee before his death in 1900. He died on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dokota.
