  • Even a broken vessel can be beautiful.. / /

  • This is an infrared shot taken at a place called Pelican. No…there weren’t any pelicans there the day I took this…!!! / / The title is inspired by Moby. / / / / / / / / /

  • All work in this portfolio is © Stephanie Rachel Seely. / These materials (images and poems) may NOT be edited, copied, reproduced, printed, distributed, displayed, performed, or used in any way, in whole or in part, without my written permission. Please respect copyright and do not save or upload any images or poems to Photobucket, Flickr, Myspace, Facebook etc. These creative materials are NOT public domain. Based on the following lines from a poem I wrote: / “For through the stillness of forest trees… floats to earth the remnants of angels’ wings”. The feather is a painting (deliberately made to look torn), the rest was created in Photoshop. /

  • This was taken at Swansea, Newcastle NSW, Australia. The water around this place is absolutley amazing – the most beautiful blues I have ever seen…unfortunately not so good for capturing in IR…but I managed to get the sky to turn out like the colour of the water. Honestly, that’s the colour of the water. / / / / / / / / / / /

  • A burnt out car wreck I found in a local forest… and I was supposed to be looking for nice things to photograph! Humanity is destroying the Earth and killing its soul with its greed and disrepect… but if history is any indication Mother Earth will fight back and eventually out live us all. Our buildings will crumble, our cars rust and our bodies turn to dust…and the scars we have left will heal.

  • Made with Apophysis

  • I was coming home yesterday from an appointment downtown, / and happened to look over and see this place. It was completely / abandoned, along with garages, a barn and cars. Didn’t go in, (yet..heh) but I got a few good shots from the front. I added the flood..(to go with the title.) / / CS3/Corel/handheld/Samsung/HDR / I can’t even begin to list all of the things I did to this. / One filter conversion to the next applying and painting certain areas with the saturation brush, then repeating the process + / overlays & more fine tuning! Thanks for checking it out. :) / / / Special thanks to Kevin Kroeker for being a major inspiration with HDR. You can check out some of his truly amazing HDR work here: click me!

  • Old bushel basket with summer daisies.

  • I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?

  • One of the first street shots I ever took back in 1964 in the East End of London. This was before Playstations, and probably the only ‘toy’ these kids shared between them was a skipping rope. Old bomb sites still held a fascination though as a form of amusement and exploration, as can be seen here. It was taken using a Yashica Mat 120 film twin lens reflex camera that took me six months to save up for. I used Tri-X B/W film and printed on a hard grade of paper to get the punchy contrast, a characteristic of all my early B/W work. This image was photographed digitally from the original print in my portfolio. © 1964 John Hooton Photography

  • A silver bosunbird chick, barely days old, sitting in-between its broken egg. Christmas Island, Indian Ocean Territories, Australia. Taken with Canon 5D and 28-105mm L Series lens @ 105mm. / As is – no editing.

  • It was an egg once

  • I got up at 4 this morning to drive 50mins for some sunrise shots. / Fancy getting up at that hour and then realising that your favourite picture out of the bunch is b&w ..stupid, I know! Morisset, Lake Macquarie, NSW.

  • Taken in the grounds of Morisset Mental Hospital…yes, I felt quite at home =-)

  • Homepage Feature 25/05/09 ..::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Model / Staircase / Forest / Cage If you like this piece, please check out: / / /

  • Me and my Canon BROKEN WINGS

  • The White King’s Pawn / Artist: Scott Robinson / Biography: Danny Barely human but loyal and savage / The King prefers to have those under him effective but expendable. / He has never let anyone grow close to him, even his Queen is a necessity of protocol. / His Majesty had the University of the Gear create the King’s personal guard from his own genes because of the high loyalty and devotion to the King this factored into their being. / Ironically though, they are not taken from the King but come from the Queen after it was discovered by the University that the King’s gene structure was abnormal and did not allow any cloning or modification in any shape or form. / A secret the Queen and University hold close to their breasts. / These fanatically loyal servants believe themselves to be children of the King and would lay down their lives with a mere whisper from the Him. / Extremities such as wings stubs and sexual organs that grafted on by the University staff to both hide the fact they are born female and as homage to the winged coat arms that the King insists appears on everything he rules.

  • more from my childhood narrative series based on memory.

  • long ago / and far away / you once called me / your angel . 17/100 for 1000 girls in 100 days / (topic: free) . larger view . 11.17.2oo9 / acrylic on canvas / digital / 30” square .
