I used to work for a charity for about three years, and one day, whilst sorting through a bag of donations, out falls this little foam heart with a screw pushed into it and little dabs of what looked like red ink. I decided to tear it in half (I think I may have a little too much emo in me, I may have to listen to some wheatus to lighten up later) and take a photo. I wanted to convey just how sad and lonely you can feel when heart broken even if your a Joker, all you want is to hide in a dark place… yet there is always a little blue bird of happiness sitting waiting, all you have to do is look up!.. easier said than done at times but never give up!

Depression can bring out some of the saddest images and thoughts. The loss of a brother is so overwhelming, having been there with you all your growing years through the good and the bad. Then suddenly without reason or cause, they are simply no more. Not another moment to hear their sweet voice in your ears as you did every day of your life before, or putting up with them trying to pick an argument over something silly. NO MORE TO SHARE THAT SECRET THAT ONLY SIBLINGS SOMETIMES DO. Sharing your loss with others helps you to better cope with life. Nancy

by silvercircles... Perhaps they should be / Words like teardrops, / So they can cry alongside me…
Poetry and chocolates are the best medicine for those blue days, although this is a poem just about the former. / I wasn’t really depressed when I wrote this. It’s just that I am beginning to think I am happier when I am writing depressing poems than when I am writing about sunbeams and rainbows. Go figure.
