I had written a poem a while back and wanted to incorporate the words into a brocade style layered image. I finally found a way to display how it represented me and how I felt when I wrote these words. Please view larger for best impression. Don’t wake me if I’m dreaming / For I will only resist / I don’t want to leave this journey / My free-fall into an abyss / While little hope of landing / Is euphoria, an enigma and the twist / I’ve only now discovered / There is a devil in my midst / Fleeced of all my morals / Awash in every sin / The scariest of freedoms / Has only just begun / Dare I shun my obligations / My predictabe over-made bed / Dare I dance with this freedom / Dare I revive the dead / Every moment is consuming / Commanding constant debate / May this journey never leave me / As I am finally awake.

I love collecting textiles & taking photos during my travels, so I was looking for a way of combining my two loves. I thought the colours of this gold Chinese silk brocade needed to be with this silhouette of passengers in a canoe at sunset.
