During a thunder storm in Santa Maria, California, USA. This storm did not produce as much lightning as seen in my other shots but I was happy that I captured this beautiful single stroke of lightning. This was taken with a 30 second exposure set to f/22 at 24mm with an ISO setting of 200.

broadway night
Shot from my deck. This restaurant space used to be a laundry mat. It has also previously housed a storage unit for street vendors, who would emerge each morning with their food carts and return each night. The alley next to it – Broadway Alley – is dark and foreboding. It was the set of a movie shoot just a few months ago. Copyright

Another old photograph of New York taken on a cold and snow filled February. This is the light of NYC at it’s best, reflecting off the glass on Broadway and W52, with the Late Show theatre in the background. Converted to a Holga/film effect

This painting is a case where it not only was inspired by music, but the music brought forth the idea in the first place. I listen to cable radio while I’m working and this song came on the broadway channel. ’ Diva’s Lament’, from Spamalot, I heard this and immediately did a sketch. Here’s the finished painting, a tribute to those wonderful ladies of the stage that give us their all, when most of us just want a rocking chair, or sit at a computer and paint. Thank You ladies, I love you all. Take a listen to the music, it’s fun. How many of you remember when Little Shop of Horrors came out? The original started out as a rock musical by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. It later became a long-running 1982 off-Broadway production and subsequent Broadway production, the musical has been performed all over the world. The musical was later made into a 1986 film of the same name, directed by Frank Oz. I loved the music and fell in love with the movie. I never laughed so hard. This is a homage to all those artists who made this such a wonderful work of art. My favorite line of course was “Seymour! Feed Me!” :o) Created in Incendia 1.3. Postwork in Photoshop to get the correct hue and lighting. This was a 7 day render to get most of the textures I wanted more than anything else. Apollonian structures seem to take a bit longer than the other formulas.
