  • In search of lost times – Norfolk Broads

  • Early morning on the Norfolk Broads, England. The glowing sunlight on the mist up ahead, where the river narrows, makes one eager to discover what beauty lies in wait around the next bend. / /

  • This is Happisburgh Lighthouse at the end of a typically volatile English summer’s day just after the final rainstorm of the day had passed out to sea, revealing this glorious light, and the sweetest smelling air with an almost unsurpassed clarity.

  • Thurne Mill in The Norfolk Broads, just after a rainstorm

  • Thurne Mill, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads.

  • Oh – yeah. / Part drawn part creative common part actual photo silhouetted. Had this idea for ages. I’ve got another version with text saying broadcast – but unless someone specifically asks for it i wont post it up. Looks mighty fine on black too

  • This is for my sister Michelle’s birthday. She’s overseas in London at the moment, so it doesn’t matter that I’m a day late on this because it’s still her birthday over there :D Ink, gouache, pencils and watercolour on craft card / This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works 2.5 Australia License

  • Yiddie Kitty © Vicki Ferrari / This is Yiddie when he was a little baby, back in 1991. His ears were huge but he grew into them, and his nose grew broader as well! He was rescued by a friend from a coal mine at Collinsville, North Queensland and he was with me until 1999 when he had to be put down because of kidney disease. That was a very sad time but the joys that I experienced from him being in my life outweighed the grief of his leaving – and he is still in my heart and always will be, and I still miss him! My gorgeous monster! This is a scan from the 8X12 print in one of my early portfolios. Only basic editing done – it is as it is. Thanks for sharing Yiddie with me! Framed Print /

  • One of many wind turbines springing up around the country (it is a very windy country after all!). A lot of people hate them, but I’m not quite sure what makes these so unacceptable compared to the many traditional windmills that are so loved in my part of the world. They’re just a modern version with a different purpose, but effectively they’re the same! ps if anyone’s interested, the texture used in this is the base of my mum’s marmalade-making pan :-)

  • An ambition of mine / Held for quite some time / Was to learn the lines / To Auld Lang Syne Now admittedly I’ve struggled / For the dialect’s dutch-double / Like missing pieces from a puzzle / That the dog’s just guzzled But I’m understanding some / And the rest will come along / With practice I’ll perform / This great poem with aplomb Along the cliffs and crackled shore / The words of Burns come to the fore / But seas between us braid hae roar’d / And will echo here forevermore And when past days are long but gone / It’ll do you good to keep friendships strong / Should auld acquaintance be forgot? / For if you don’t have that then you’ve not a lot At least that’s what Rabbie Burns would say / If he were still alive today / And every New Year arms will sway / To sing the song in his memory 250 years since the day of his birth / I thought long and hard and considered it worth / Marking the occasion, a tribute of sorts / To the genius Scot, the greatest poet on earth Thus I dedicate this / To the master of verse / Though my memory’s getting worse / So best get back and rehearse —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Location: Lunan Bay, near Arbroath, Angus, Scotland © Donald Cameron 2009 / Monophotography.co.uk

  • Herringfleet Mill can be found where you might least expect to find it – about twenty yards on the Suffolk side of the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Given Norfolk’s monopoly on spectacular, well-preserved mills, it seems only fair that neighbouring Suffolk should have a few of its own…although it should be noted that even this mill is officially in the Norfolk Broads. This photograph was taken on an extremely February day. A 13 seconds’ exposure captured the movement of the clouds as they raced across the East Anglian sky. Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 13 seconds at f/22.

  • A field of sunflowers in Ranworth, Norfolk. Made for, and dedicated to someone special – they know who they are!

  • This is Brograve Mill, a crumbling relic in the remote north-eastern corner of Norfolk’s Broadland area – an atmospheric place at any time but in the honey-coloured glow of a warm autumnal evening… perfect!
