  • Merely a Snapshot
    by Brittany Kinney

So many things are out there, calling for the camera…

See, I love photography because of this very reason- something you shoot can either mean so much to you or mean so little and they can have such a huge impact on someone. It’s merely a snapshot and it can bring on so much emotions. Wow!

  • Suddenly
    by Brittany Kinney

My Mommom was to my right sitting on the couch with this glazed look on her eyes. I could tell she was happy to see me but something was …

This is my point of view during a tragic event that recently struck my family.

  • Lost In The Dark (Full poem)
    by Brittany Callis

The suffocating air fills my heart, turning it into ice as the pain and madness take over my soul…

This was going to be my entry for the writing competition about the DARK but after writing it and pasting it into this, I find that it has too many lines so I might re-write it. But I would still like to know what eveyone thinks. Thanks! -Brittany Callis

  • Her Pain
    by Brittany Callis

Un-triumphantly Winning over the insanity of framed pictures of perfection / She feels every quake of the earth Every lightning strike of …

This is a poem I found saved on my computer that I wrote on October 11, of 2004 so I would have been 17 years old at the time. Let me know what you think please. Thanks!

  • Stealing Family Heirlooms
    by Brittany Kinney

The coast was clear so I went for the gold…or, in this case, the plate…

I had to write this for a school assignment and thought it was pretty good so I decided to post it on here. Written 12-30-07 11:11 pm. / BY THE WAY / This is fiction. I have an Aunt Grace but no Great-Grandma Grace. The name was a recommendation from a friend. There is no plate in my family as an heirloom (that I know of?) and if there is, I doubt it’s like the one described in this story. ENOY!!! =D

  • Delusional Monks
    by Brittany Kinney

All of the sudden, I couldn’t believe what I saw before me.

Another fiction story that I had to write for school. Enjoy! Written 9-25-07 11:34 AM

  • One More Minute
    by Brittany Kinney

It’s a lesson thats never new, nor never old. / Always preached, never practiced.

A few different events within the past few months have inspired this work, as well as the Columbine shootings (which I refer to in lines 6 & 7). Written on April 20th, 2008 in dedication to those whose lives were taken by the shooters. My prayers and heart goes out to the families involved.

  • Do You Know?
    by Brittany Kinney

Always asking, never ceasing to compare, / We compare ourselves to those around us, / Revealing only what we want them to see.
