Mismarked chocolate lab (purebred) at about 5 weeks old. From a litter of 9, 4 were seriously mismarked – cutest pups I ever saw!

A “pit bull” wearing a pink collar looking down main street of a small town. She is feared and discriminated against because of what she looks like. She is a victim of the media which portrays her as a vicious killer even though she was the one thrown from a car on a freeway when she was 5 months old.

Love this one of her :) — For Playful Photogenic Pets’ challenge, ‘How has your pet made a difference in your life?’ and also for the Rescued Pets group- I rescued Scarlet around two years ago. She was bred by a backyard breeder and dumped at a shelter very early on in life. She spent 6 months in the shelter and was to be put to sleep – no one had shown any interest in her and she was going kennel mad. I didn’t think I could let this dog, who had been brought into the world, only to spend her entire life in a kennel get put to sleep, so I put in an application to adopt her and within 3 days, she was mine. I’ve not once regretted the somewhat impulsive decision to rescue her. She is my heart dog and I love her to pieces. All she ever wants to do is be with me and all she has ever shown me is love. I’ve been sick for 5 years and having her in my life has made being unwell just that little bit easier. When I’m feeling down, she persists with silly behaviour until I crack a smile and when I’m unwell, she simply sits or lies with me – just being in her presence makes me feel more relaxed. My attempt at a self through the eye of Hoha the dog :P This was the only one she stayed still for i swear shes like the energizer bunny sometimes! Her amount of energy knows no bounds its unbelievable but she is a sweet dog! It hasnt been edited or anything and is as it is when i took it.
