This shot was taken a few years back during our trip to China. Hong Kong is a great city. I’m not much of a city fan, but there is something magic about Hong Kong and I tried to bring home a little of that magic. Also available as wallpaper

Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / Ride Like the Wind is a card from the Beach Series and Inspired Series by Karin Taylor….. / in the dark of night she escapes suburbia to find the giant swell of the rolling ocean beckoning her from the shoreline…..she notices a makeshift board on the edge, where the waves ebb and flow in a cheeky hello…....bracing herself, she skims the board through the shallows and onto the wave, which picks her up as though it were cradling her in it’s arms, throws her forward and there she stands in all her glory, the moonlight guiding her way to another land, where in the soft glow of the morning light ~ life will be gentler, people kinder and her heart can mend….... Hosier Lane in Melbourne, Australia. A result of 9 images (3 HDR’s) done in Photomatix. Merged the HDR’s in photoshop using automate > Photomerge. Oil Pastel and Acrylic on old wood with slight digital enhancements Ophelia, puzzled by the radical transformation that had taken place overnight to this butterfly friend of hers, thought to herself, “She was in a white thread-like casing yesterday, how did all that happen so fast? There must be something magical about that case!” This is inspired by a book Hope For The Flowers by Trina Paulus. This is a cute and yet thought provoking story about two caterpillars who because they mistake the meaning of their urge to get high, get entangled climbing a horrible “caterpillar pillar”. And for two caterpillars, we all know, surrendering to the cocoon is the only way to finally fly. Hope For the Flowers is a book that celebrates HOPE. My fave lines from the book is “How does one become a butterfly?” She asked pensively. “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” We are all meant to be as beautiful and free like the butterflies, that’s our destiny…as we free ourselves to be who we really are…and together with our innate talents,we bring hope to the world around us, bringing change inevitably around us :D / You can view and buy my other “Metamorphosis” creations from my Zazzle Gallery:

Pulled out of the archives from a while ago… A 3 exposure HDR in Photomatix software. This photo was taken with my old Canon 300D, I had a fair bit of trouble deciding what white balance to go with but I think it worked out ok.
