  • Good Night Moon /

  • Installment 1 of 5 of the “For the Masses” Seres. Life is like an impossible balancing act. / We are expected to come away uninjured, but that is rarely the case… / Like clowns wearing masks of other people’s design we perform for the masses. / Seeking their attention, Seeking their approval… / We balance on a cloth red with our own essence, and yet it’s not enough. / In final desperation we set our souls a blaze. / And yet their heckles still flow, like rocks against the flesh / We stumble and fall, again our essence seeps as the crowd disburses / The show is over. The masses have moved on to find another…

  • Installment 2 of 5 of the “For the Masses” Seres. / At first I didn’t have the courage to release this alone before the other pieces of the blocks were complete, but I’ve realized I don’t have the patience to wait… Yet another Impossible situation / Impossible to get out of, Impossible to walk away from / We’re pulled and tugged by the masses to perform / And yet that same pull contorts our bodies and our minds / Why do we continue to spin the ribbon? Why do we continue to perform? / To please other while we ourselves are bound / It is this need to satisfy the masses’ wicked eyes / That keeps us hanging helpless in their pull / This is why we never stop performing…even when the ribbon disintegrates and burns.

  • Installment 3 of 5 of the “For the Masses” Seres. From above the crowds you sit high and mighty / The masses cheer for you, their applause is thunderous / You are their beauty. Their eyes burn brightly with adoration and awe. / Although you are weighed down by your own adornment / You smile and wave… / Although the pull of your pride and ornament tears at your seat’s security / You smile and wave… / Yet, Unbeknown to you the breaking of these strings is what the masses are truly cheering for…

  • Installment 4 of 5 of the “For the Masses” Seres. Even bound by one hand she still performs to her fullest… / Yet the crowds are still unimpressed, their boo’s resound / We ,too, abide by the same creed / Even when we are hindered, we still continue to try / And yet no matter what we do we can never achieve enough / People looking on are still unimpressed / And even something within ourselves constantly nag / “You will never be good enough…No matter how hard you try” / It’s a vicious cycle…

  • Installment 5 of 5 of the “For the Masses” Seres. Laughter resonates from the gargantuan crowds / A Clown Act, cleaver and mystical, capture their attention and hearts / And yet when the show is over, the Clowns true colors show that of gloom / We are never happy, yet we keep up a smiling face / In hopes that others won’t see how much we are hurting… / Keeping them laughing is the key to keeping them happy / That much is easy. / But the same is not true for ourselves… / How can we be happy? That is the one question that lacks an answer. So yeah, this is it everyone. I’ve never done a full blown series before! By doing this I have learned so much about art, myself, what it means to be an artist and what art really is! I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world. You will see more works from me but I think from now on my style will just be a little different…That much I know for sure. Thanks guys for your support!

  • As some of you may have noticed, I like to use mushrooms in my images. They’re just so wonderfully odd-looking. In the “Cosmic Mushrooms” series, I pair them with images of nebula taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. The shapes of fungi thrusting though the earth and jets of gas pushing against the interstellar medium echo each other wonderfully, so that even a toadstool several parsecs across isn’t completely strange… “Cosmic Mushrooms 1” combines an image of the Orion Nebula with a photograph from stock.xchng member “Bobasse” (yoann yoann).
