  • This is obviously not an original idea, and I want to thank both ECGardner and Angelique Brunas for their works along these lines that motivated me to explore my own creativity. I hope they do not mind my using their work as a basis for my inspiration, and I am still working to achieve the balance, beauty, and artistry they have exhibited through their respective nature based collages! I will give folks a while to guess what the various panes are comprised of, they should be pretty easy to figure out, later I will insert the proper descriptions of their contents. As always I can not say often enough how wonderful the Redbubble community is and how happy I am to have found it during it’s infancy so that I may grow along with it into a more complete and accomplished artist! / / / / Portfolio Areas / / Tigers / Wildlife / Macro / Landscape / Birds / Abstracts / Cats~wild and domestic

  • 11/2/09 – 1540 views Close up macro of a water-spewing fish on a fountain at the Kennywood amusement park. Many people simply walk past this charming fountain on their way to the Exterminator, Pittsburgh Plunge or Phantom’s Revenge, but I always stop to enjoy the novelty of it. Got some strange looks from people while hanging halfway into the fountain to get this close to the little fish. • / CLICK THIS IMAGE TO READ MORE ABOUT IT! BONUS COLLAGE! What you see here is one of several works of art to be posted over the next seven days – the results of a seven day smackdown between myself, and the fabulous Angi Sullins and Silas Toball – where Angi made a traditional collage, and then gave it to Silas and I, letting us loose on it with our photoshop skills. :) For this one – I was really draw to one element in particular, in the original collage. Some orange detailing that made me think of goldfish, or koi. I couldn’t get the image out of my head… no matter that the whole focus of the original collage was BUNNIES! LOL So, instead of following the white rabbit, and dove into the lily pond with the fishies. Here is the original collage: (TO BE POSTED MOMENTARILY)

  • This is a variation on that wonderful little art deco piece from Dover Publications copyright free archives that I used for ‘Hollywood Nefertiti’. I watched an old Charlie Chan movie the other night and it got my imagination going. I’m an old ‘B’ movie junky. I love them. So Charlie Chan eat your heart out. This is a vamp in the old Hollywood tradition only this time around in living color. / I have gone back and looked up the music I was listening to when I was designing this. The music was on one of those info-commercials. I found them on ‘YouTube’, my son told me you can find anything on youtube. The name of the group is ‘The Twelve Girls Band’ a group of super beautiful very talented chinese musicians using traditional instruments. This selection doesn’ emphasize the traditional instruments but I think it captures the elegant feel I was trying for with the artwork. I’m a fan. / link below, take a listen The Twelve Girls Band FEATURED ‘Music Inspired Art Group’ / Top Ten-- ‘Signature Style’ challenge, Painted Ladies group For that bright flash of color or as a conversation piece in your decor use a small ‘Mounted Print’ on a plate easel, chic. • Please see RoyAllenHunt’s written piece: Are You Ok With This. His incredible song is a compliment to this piece. See here for how I created this shot. I really thought I would wait at least two weeks before I tried this again, but then I went hunting in the pantry and found more dye and well, curiosity and motivation got the better of me tonight! Red and green dye this time around. Green was dropped in first, and allowed to swirl around a fair bit, then the red came in. It looked so much like blood coursing through someone, or something..
