Someone brought in a pack of “Winter Oreos”. Package features a snowman in front of a bunch of snow-covered pines. Now, Haloween Oreos have Orange creme. St. Pat’s oreos have minty green creme. What color would “Winter” oreos be? As white would be decidedly non-special, an icy blue perhaps? No. They’re red. Scarlet. Huh? - Apparently, someone at Nabisco designed, proposed and got approval to make Chrismas Oreos. It’s the only way the red makes sense. Whaddaya wanna bet: at the last minute, some PC-minded lawyer gets nervous about being insensitive, changes “Christmas” for “Winter”, replaces the jolly Santa figure with a snowman and takes the decorations off the pines? ...But leaves the crimson creme. WHY? It’s not like you can’t still buy regular Oreos if you don’t like Christmas (or even if you don’t like the commercialized version of it.) But instead we have “Wintery Red”. Groan.
