  • after many many hours and km’s…. this storm was dead and I thought I had missed a ‘dream shot’. The lightinging had become so sparse it seemed ridiculous even sitting on the beach to watch, yet alone be set up to photograph lightning ! / But alas ! this storm had one final freak discharge to exult to earth….ahhh….patience and persistence. :) / / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / / / see more of my weather related photography by clicking below / /

  • Dawn at Garie Beach, Royal National Park just south of Sydney, Australia. A seagull very obligingly flew into shot as I was taking this. Can you spot the silhouetted fishermen? / I’m lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen – it’s only a little national park (14,000 ha) but the variety of stuff to photograph is simply endlessly inspiring. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/125 / Av: f/32 / ISO: 100 / FL: 70mm then cropped Taken on the same magic morning as Light’s Flight: / /

  • 11/2/09 – 1540 views Close up macro of a water-spewing fish on a fountain at the Kennywood amusement park. Many people simply walk past this charming fountain on their way to the Exterminator, Pittsburgh Plunge or Phantom’s Revenge, but I always stop to enjoy the novelty of it. Got some strange looks from people while hanging halfway into the fountain to get this close to the little fish. • “Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

  • Original acrylic painting on canvas 24” x 30” / I have always loved photography, but it was a means to an end. I wanted ideas for painting. This painting really came from a deep instinct. It was the first time that I just let it happen as I went along. The color seemed to take shape in the back ground and soon I notice that it looked like spirits. Were they guiding me? I think they were. This is an / /

  • I was experimenting with water and food colouring in my DIY studio at home. I put drops of the dye into the water and then quickly focused before the dye sank to the bottom. I also used thin white plastic with a light behind it to bring up the vivid colours. After viewing this in my digital darkroom I flipped the image just for fun to give it another dimension. It sort of looks like flowers growing up out of the ground.
