‘Inspirational Series’ card by Karin Taylor Where is Red Dog is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper using ink, pastel, acrylic and charcoal. The original painting was inspired by the legend of ‘Red Dog’, aka ‘The Pilbara Wanderer’ of Western Australia. Red Dog was a loyal friend and stout companion to all who knew him. In this painting, the girl on the skateboard represents us in our search for love and acceptance and ‘Red Dog’ symbolises that quintessential spirit of the friend, whose love and acceptance we all yearn for.

Watch the Video here Feel it falling off like clothing / Taste it rolling on your tongue / See the lights above you glowing / Oh and breathe them deep into your lungs It was always simple, not hidden hard / You’ve been pulling at the strings playing puppeteer for kings / And you’ve had enough But the search ends here / Where the night is totally clear / And your heart is fierce / So now you finally know that you control where you go / You can steer So hold this feeling like a newborn / Of freedom surging through your veins / You have opened up a new door / So bring on the wind, fire and rain It was always simple, not hidden hard / You’ve been played at a game called remembering your name / And you stuffed it up But the search ends here / Where the night is totally clear / And your heart is fierce / So now you finally know that you control where you go / You can steer ‘Cos you’ve been listening for answers / But the city screams and all your dreams go unheard But the search ends here / Where the night is totally clear / And your heart is fierce / So now you finally know that you control where you go / You can steer / Year get out of the box and step into the clear / ‘Cos now you finally know you can steer Missy Higgins

I’ve been posting a few black and white images taken with my little russian lomo of late and now I’m bored for the moment with that camera so I’ve gone back to my cheeky little holga 120 for a bit of colour…... and why not? its been such a bright and beautiful day….late autumn in Sydney and its dry and warm and sunny and everyone is still in tee shirts and thongs….. lovely anyway this image was taken a few months ago in the country a few hours drive north of were I live at a very dear friends place. He’s been on my mind as he has been overseas and is due back in the country soon….. and so this one is for him….. and its a perfectly pefect little hill near his property in the country.

Everytime I look at this picture, it reminds me of this poem that I like: The Road Not Taken / by Robert Frost / / Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, / And sorry I could not travel both / And be one traveler, long I stood / And looked down one as far as I could / To where it bent in the undergrowth; / Then took the other, as just as fair, / And having perhaps the better claim, / Because it was grassy and wanted wear; / Though as for that, the passing there / Had worn them really about the same, / And both that morning equally lay / In leaves no step had trodden black. / Oh, I kept the first for another day! / Yet knowing how way leads to way, / I doubted if I should ever come back. / I shall be telling this with a sigh / Somewhere ages and ages hence: / Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- / I took the one less traveled by, / And that has made all the difference. / / I know the picture is not diverged road in a wood, but it reminds me of that poem. Check out the card with part of the poem

this will me last holga upload for a while…... well till I get the next lot of film back from the lab anyway…...... and its shot not very far from where I live in Wollongong. The drive into Sydney through the National Park is one of the prettiest drives I’ve ever taken and mostly that is because of the stunning coastal scenery like what is in the funny little photo….. soaring cliffs and and a towering escaprment face the pacific ocean for most of it and its a really beautiful drive. On the left hand side of this image and if you look really closely you can see a bit of the magificent Seacliff bridge. This amazing structure leaves the cliff road and moves out over the sea as the cliffs are prone to shed large rocks. This means that this beautiful sinuous bridge rises from the sea itself and seems to hover in space….. its a wonderful expereince to drive over and is already beloved by advertising agencies all over the world…... lucky me for living so close to it hey….....enjoy…...:)
