My team of Track Workers, after a very cold and mostly sleepless night, thaw out whilst getting a fire going to cook breakfast before heading out once again to do volunteer maintenance work on the Bibbulmun Track, Western Australia.

This is quite close to the pretty country town of Bridgetown, down in the south west of Western Australia about 300 kms south of Perth. We used to come here at least once every year to photograph the kids at the local schools and, as a result, have developed quite an affinity with the place.

The building of this Anglican church was completed in 1911 and a number of the church adornments were created by the UK born, West Australian artist, Hubert Augustus Gordon Holdsworth. I always think of my Pop when I see poppies. He was an awesome grandparent and loved to make us laugh. One of his tricks was to pretend to eat big fat snails straight out of the garden – horrifying and hilarious to a 5 year old!!
