This bridge lies on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey. The land on the far side of the photograph is the Asian continent and on the near side of the bridge is the European continent. The bridge acts as a link between the two continents. The lights on the bridge were constantly changing colour. This image features in my calendar “Scenes From the Middle East”

This is not your “usual” shot of the S.F. city skyline and Bay Bridge that you are used to seeing… those are shot from overhead. There are reasons this view is not seen all over the place… To get to this location, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome. Sheer drops with nothing but rocks and ocean below abound, jagged metal from construction jut up from the ground when you least expect, and the keep out signs from the government didn’t help to settle my nerves any either. For that last reason you don’t want to use your flashlight as you head down the slopes for fear of the coast guard seeing you. That makes the afore mentioned problems magnified. So… all that said, it was a calm beautiful night on the bay and once I reached this area, I found this sight so breathtaking that it took me easily five minutes before I remembered why I came to the spot. Believe it or not, this is not a “fantasy” image, created in a computer. This is a real photograph of a very real place! This is Rainbow Falls, in Watkins Glen State Park, located in upstate New York at the lower end of Seneca Lake. It is one of the most unbelievable places I have ever seen! I thank God and NY State for this most beautiful place on earth! Lush green ground vegetation and beautiful trees punctuate the enormous rock cliffs and the numerous waterfalls. The sound of flowing water is like natures music that accompanies you throughout your hike in the gorge. This photograph was captured with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 10D DSLR body. The aperture was f/4, shutter speed 1/15th sec at 40mm focal length. The camera & Lens were mounted on a Manfrotto tripod with a Manfrotto “joystick” ball head. A remote shutter release was used to minimize movement. No flash. Your comments are always welcome! Located in War Eagle, Arkansas, this mill was originally burned during the Civil War by Confedarate troops in order to keep the Union Army from taking it as a mainstay. This is still an operational grist mill and has tours daily. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on November 19, 1985 500+ Views as of 12/13/2009

Taken at Springbrook National Park at The Natural Bridge on the 5th of October, 2009. The following evening we came back to view the glow worms on the cave walls, it was definitely an amazing experience (minus the stupid people shining their torches straight onto the glow worms, smoking near them and using camera flash!).
