Bridge near Coalcliff, NSW, Australia
The Sea Cliff Bridge is found between Sydney and Wollongong in NSW. It is a wonderful structure that follows the curves of the cliffs without touching them. The area was notorious for its rock falls so the bridge is actually a road protected from the cliffs by space.

Taken while driving over Sea Cliff Bridge between Stanwell Park and Wollongong, about an hour and a half south of Sydney. Definitely worth a look – an architect’s dream!
Last Sunday I wend down to Sculpture By The Sea at Bondi Beach. The sky was amazing. It rained all the way down in the car (at 5am) then stopped as I parked. The clouds threatened rain for the 90 min I was taking photos, but then just as I was getting ready to go, a window opened up in the clouds and beautiful golden light streamed over the sculptures. The dark threatening clouds made the perfect backdrop. This image is a 3 shot HDR image. I printed this image up and it looks great in my hall… It has become one of my favorites.

For this one I waded out under the Sandgate bridge at dawn & took a 10 sec exposure @ f16. / Then I kept the camera in position & waited, waited, waited until the bird flew past and took a shot at 1/180. / Then I combined the two photos in a little program you might know called photoshop. / I can see this one working well on a large canvas.
I don’t often do scenery alone – but here’s a piece for you… ;-) Love, Claudia

Taken last September in one of my favorite places in Tokyo – Odaiba. A few seconds after this, I put the camera down, waved to him. He waved back and toppled over with a nice splash. His mother was not well pleased….
Went to the bayside area in Tokyo today for the first time in a year, and decided to reprise one of my more successful photos. Odaiba and weather were much the same. Son is older, taller, skinnier and even less compliant when it comes to taking his photo…! It was a great day. The weather was beautiful and we spent the perfect end to our trip watching the sun go down while gorging ourselves in a seafood restaurant. Life doesn’t get much better. I’ll try to remember this when I’m working next week…..

This is a view down the mighty River Tyne from the swing bridge with it’s old wood jetty pointing down river like some old barge. Like a half remembered ghost of the trade that once and still does flow along this river. The river separates Newcastle and Gateshead and yet such is the relationship between the two sides of the river, there is a wonderful number of bridges connecting the two banks. In front the first bridge is the classic Tyne bridge , with the Gateshead Sage building glistening in the wet light underneath, while beyond lies the modern “winking eye” bridge. This foot and cycle bridge links the redeveloped riverside of Newcastle to the reinvent Baltic Flour Mill, now known for it’s contemporary art shows.
