  • Last Sunday I wend down to Sculpture By The Sea at Bondi Beach. The sky was amazing. It rained all the way down in the car (at 5am) then stopped as I parked. The clouds threatened rain for the 90 min I was taking photos, but then just as I was getting ready to go, a window opened up in the clouds and beautiful golden light streamed over the sculptures. The dark threatening clouds made the perfect backdrop. This image is a 3 shot HDR image. I printed this image up and it looks great in my hall… It has become one of my favorites.

  • San Francisco

  • The mid West Australian coast around Kalbarri is particularly rugged and the constant action of wind, waves, and tides over many millions of years have created several stunning coastal gorges as well as three or four amazing creations. This bridge is one such creation and is only visible at low tide. In this photo the setting sun was bouncing off the rocks behind me and creating a most wonderful setting that I and a couple of other photographers were taking full advantage of. Kalbarri is a popular fishing cum holiday township 150 kms north of Geraldton and getting on for 600 kms north of Perth. As well as it’s coastal gorges it is also famed for some stunning river gorges

  • Placida, Florida / Canon Powershot S3 IS / #1 Featured Piece of the Day(November 17, 2008) in “All About Water” There were a lot of question asked about this bridge and title I used. / This bridge is more used for docking boats , than any thing else. It’s not connected to another land. I came out with the title like this as result of 4 years fighting for the true… 4 long years … and I am in the dead end, nowhere… / Bridge to nowhere Bridge to nowhere finished in position 5 of Top Ten in December Group Avatar Challenge of TUNNEL VISION (pho… December 5, 2009 June 29, 2009 Second with 6 votes in Depth of field

The Golden Gate Bridge was barely visible in this dense morning fog. From a cliff overlooking the bay, the pillar was visible as well as a misty outline of the San Francisco skyline. Built in 1933, the bridge was completed 5 years later in 1937. It is a part of US Highway 101 and State Route 1, and is the only road to exit San Francisco to the north. A bit of trivia: The suspension bridge is 8,981 feet in length and is 200+ feet above the water. It has a total of approximately 1.2 million rivets holding it together. • This is not your “usual” shot of the S.F. city skyline and Bay Bridge that you are used to seeing… those are shot from overhead. There are reasons this view is not seen all over the place… To get to this location, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome. Sheer drops with nothing but rocks and ocean below abound, jagged metal from construction jut up from the ground when you least expect, and the keep out signs from the government didn’t help to settle my nerves any either. For that last reason you don’t want to use your flashlight as you head down the slopes for fear of the coast guard seeing you. That makes the afore mentioned problems magnified. So… all that said, it was a calm beautiful night on the bay and once I reached this area, I found this sight so breathtaking that it took me easily five minutes before I remembered why I came to the spot. Bay Bridge, Yerba Buena Island, CA Camera: Nikon D90 / Exposure: 6 sec (6) / Aperture: f/6.3 / Focal Length: 25 mm / ISO Speed: 200

  • Another shot of the Bay Bridge over looking San Francisco. Also if you look on the bridge you can see a police vehicle swerving across lanes to slow traffic.

  • For this one I waded out under the Sandgate bridge at dawn & took a 10 sec exposure @ f16. / Then I kept the camera in position & waited, waited, waited until the bird flew past and took a shot at 1/180. / Then I combined the two photos in a little program you might know called photoshop. / I can see this one working well on a large canvas.

  • I don’t often do scenery alone – but here’s a piece for you… ;-) Love, Claudia

  • Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more… Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm IS.
