  • On this bridge as a boy scout I saw a ghost, from then it became special, almost ethereal in my eyes. The sight of such an unexplained event inspires and triggers the imagination of a young boy to life. I still look at this bridge and wonder which realm the spirit came from and what secrets are held in every arch and brick of this unique structure. In the soft early morning light, the reflections shimmer on the water like ripples through time, stirring the souls of those who have passed over the bridge, and passed across dimensions. This is not just a bridge over a piece of water it is a bridge which spans time, space and maybe spirituality, to me it is the bridge of faith and belief, a bridge of discovery and imagination, a bridge of light and life, a true contender for the most beautiful bridge in the world. To me it is already a winner, it moved and inspired me it helped to make me what I am today, what I believe and what I feel. Alance Bridge this is my entry as the most Beautiful Bridge in the world.

  • Featured in Neighborhoods – May 31st, 2009 / Featured in Style! Class! Elegance! Excellence! – March 21st, 2009 Taken in Harbour View Park in Winnipeg, Canada on a very calm evening. It’s a very beautiful place in a city and I often go there to shoot sunsets or just walk around the lakes and nature paths. Canon XSi with 18-55mm lens, f/11, 1/200sec, ISO-400, 33mm.

  • As we drove back from Great Gable, we stopped off at this lovely old bridge… ok, I can’t remember it’s name :-) Thanks Rob, it’s Ashness Bridge. / The light wasn’t right, it would have been good to have the bridge in sunlight. As it is I’ve cropped some of the darker bottom part of the photo off, but the distant hills and sky have to be worthy of posting. / THE LAKE DISTRICT / National Park.

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER Yes the reflections are natural, no photoshop or digital manipulation except mother natures North Narrabeen lies on the northern shores of Narrabeen lagoon, bounded by Warriewood to the north, Elanora Heights to the west and extends east to the ocean at Turrimetta Beach. Narrabeen is opposite on the southern shore of the lagoon. The first land grants were made to John Lees, 40 acres, Philip Schaffer, 50 acres, and James Wheeler, 80 acres, along the south bank of Mullet Creek. Alex Macdonald was granted 80 acres at the beach in 1815 and west of this land JT Collins had 93.5 acres by 1857. During the nineteenth century travellers had to ford the lake until 1880 when the first bridge opened. A second bridge at the mouth of the lagoon in Ocean Street was built in 1925 This shot was taken at sunrise, i was driving across and caught the reflections out of the corner of my eye, needless to say I had my camera with me. The reflections were fantastic especially the clouds and the single span of the bridge looking like a double span. Narrabeen Lakes are a tidal fed this shot is the second bridge closest the the lakes entrance. Located around 30 kilometres from the Sydney CBD, a must if visting Sydney is to travel the Northern Beaches of Sydney, great at any time of day but glorious when there is a wonderful sunrise or sunset ….. MAGIC

  • If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, / if a blade of grass springing up in the fields / has power to move you, / if the simple things of nature have a / message that you understand, / rejoice, for your soul is alive.

  • We never thought this day would come, / But it’s finally here at last, What once was our bright future, / Is now are dim-lit past, But we hold onto the memories, / The lessons that we learned, The pathways we have traveled down, / The corners that we turned, And soon we say our sad goodbyes, / That will last us forever, We may see each other again, / Maybe once or maybe never, So make your goodbyes ones to remember, / The kind that will stay in their heads, Those are the goodbyes they will treasure, / The ones that were sad to be said.

  • Lake of Two Mountains, in the village of Oka Quebec, CANADA,taken on Saturday March 21st 2009 with Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens. / The tracks you see carved into the ice in the foreground are made by the cars that pass daily on the “ice bridge” from one side of the shore to the other. This ice roadway is maintained by a private company, has been 100 years in existence and no accidents have ever happened. However, the day that we were there, we noted during the afternoon that several pools of water had emerged over top the ice in some places and we presume that was the last weekend of using the passage over the lake to get to the other side.
