  • Golden Gate Bridge acrylic on canvas by American Impressionist painter RD Riccoboni ™. Brilliant orange and bright blues in the sky and water compliment each other in this exciting painting of the famous bridge in The San Francisco Bay. When I think of the Golden Gate Bridge I am inspired by what can be achieved when we put our minds to somthing. Barbara Stanny said: / Each of us was born with wings and has the ability to go farther than we ever / thought possible, to do things beyond our wildest imaginings. / RD Riccoboni ™ Impressionist art and Realism art includes California Art, San Diego Art, Los Angeles Art, San Francisco Art, New York Art, Manhattan Art, New York City Art, Connecticut Art, and New England Art. You can view his work at Beacon Artworks Gallery in San Diego California. Color is the first thing you notice about my work. What makes it ‘pop’ is the placement of color and texture. The primary colors in my palette are derived from the colors in the original rainbow flag which represent sexuality, healing, sun, nature, art, harmony and spirit. As a painter I am a visual storyteller. A message comes with the art – perhaps it is playful, calming, erotic, disturbing, political, or even sacred. I like to flirt with the issues and experiences we face in everyday life, the things we do and the places we go that define our lives. Whether positive, humorous, or thought provoking, my work portrays events people relate to while creating a sense of place for the viewer. RD Riccoboni ™is an innovative American-born painter (California, 1960), influenced by his early years living in the suburbs of New York City. A self-taught artist, he credits encouragement by family and teachers for his drive and inspiration. RD Riccoboni ™ paintings on canvas and paper depict his travels and local interest. Subjects include California landscape, cityscape, portraiture, street-scenes, public events, and everyday happenings and friends. His palette is derived from the bold colors of the original rainbow flag. Colors that represent, sexuality, healing, sunshine, nature, art, harmony, and spirit. / RD Riccoboni ™ is internationally recognized work represents community, a sense of place in a positive and life affirming manner. Beacon Artworks Gallery, shows the San Diego paintings by California artist RD Riccoboni. These art pieces tell the story of San Diego from Old Town to today, created in bold color. The birthplace of California – Old Town, San Diego is featured at the gallery, as well as the first mission and colonial building in the western United States, Mission San Diego De Alcala. Visit the Spanish Colonial fantasy of Balboa Park, the historic Gaslamp district, Little Italy, Point Loma, La Jolla and Coronado Island. The gallery takes you on a colorful tour through art of America’s finest city, San Diego, with paintings by one of America’s favorite artists, RD Riccoboni. Riccoboni appreciates both new and old San Diego, along with the California history that surrounds these settings. The artist went out in search of old homes to paint, and soon realized there was so much more beauty in the overall experience of his city and county and recreate in art a mix of everyday activity in neighborhood street scenes, all in bold color that tells the story of this special place. Beacon Artworks Gallery is located at 2754 Calhoun Street in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

On April 1, 2009 this image won the Black & White Challenge in the Retired & Happy group. This image placed third in the Best Treatment challenge in December ‘08. The Golden Gate Bridge was barely visible in this dense morning fog. From a cliff overlooking the bay, the pillar was visible as well as a misty outline of the San Francisco skyline. Built in 1933, the bridge was completed 5 years later in 1937. It is a part of US Highway 101 and State Route 1, and is the only road to exit San Francisco to the north. A bit of trivia: The suspension bridge is 8,981 feet in length and is 200+ feet above the water. It has a total of approximately 1.2 million rivets holding it together. • Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more… Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm IS. • The Golden Gate bridge on a foggy day. I heard its normal for it to be foggy but I cant be sure I only been there twice so far and the first day was beautiful and clear. Today I decided to go and it was foggy. I took a different route and actually walked the bridge part way. It was a nice walk and hopefully I can go again before heading home (FLA) and it be a clear day so I can get some nice photos during the walk on the bridge.
