  • I AM NOT AN ARTIST I AM JUST A MAN WHO PAINTS.L.S.LOWRY).... I have been painting as an amateur artist on and off for many years.I have over the years developed a very unusual use of colour and content, which I now know from experience appeal to many people, Including individual collectors and dealers. Newcastle upon Tyne England has been a hotbed of heavy Industry since the beginning of the industrial revolution, most of which has now gone forever. A lot of my paintings are recollections of youthful images of the period, late 1940s and 1950s. They are inspired by local naïve and primitive pitmen artists I am also an admirer of L.S.LOWRY, and the great American artist EDWARD HOPPER .AND GRANMA MOSES among others. • Dawn across the Tamar river on the border between Cornwall and Devon in the UK. The road bridge was opened in 1961, the rail bridge, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, probably the best engineer of the Victorian era, was opened in 1859 and is still in daily use. / I took this shot on a cold November morning from the Cornish side of the river just as the sun was rising and didn’t realise until later that I had also captured a seagull in the frame. • Hi With living and growing up in Ireland for the best part of 30 years i was always told that England was lush with greens all over the countryside. Now that i reside in Lancashire i have seen this to be true. I have spent the last 2 years travelling around the UK on a purpose to document my travels through pictures and on my travels, i decided to put together a portfolio called Roaming England. This portfolio is based only on the English Countryside and displayed in full colour, after all, the English Countryside is saturated with lush greens, yellows, reds and of course deep blue skies ( well on a good day anyway lol ) :) So my journey was to document my perspective of the English Countryside through my own eye’s and interputation! This is what the English Countryside offers me. The stories growing up have come true to life, right before my very eye’s, for me to capture, to keep for life and to share with others….. ........this is my view on the English Countryside. / ............................................................................................................................................ Camera settings > Exposure time >> 1/30sec Tripod mounted / Aperture >> F/9 / Focal length >> 29mm / ISO >> 200 / EV >> – 0.7 It was shot in RAW and later converted in Photoshop CS2. Adjustments made were Levels, Curves, Hue/Saturation and finaly Reduce Noise. It was then saved as a Tiff file for storage and a JPEG for uploading here. Many thanks for taking the time to look and read about how this work was made. Stevie Location :: Crook ’ o ’ Lune, Lancashire.

  • For affordable canvas prints please                     click here http://www.redbubble.com/products/configure/8835296 / This view from The London Eye shows the South side of Charing Cross Station. The trains cross the Thames over Hungerford Bridge and go underneath Embbankment Place, a post-modern office and shopping complex designed by Terry Farrell and Partners, built in 1990. / The station was built on the site of the Hungerford Market and opened on Monday, 11 January, 1864. / An ornate, French Renaissance style, frontage was added in 1865 as part of the Charing Cross Hotel that spans the entrance. / The original, single-span, roof collapsed on Tuesday, 5th December, 1905. The name “Charing Cross” refers to the road junction of the Strand, Whitehall and Cockspur Street, just south of Trafalgar Square in Westminster within Central London, England. It is often used a central datum point for distances in the London area and is named after the site of the long demolished Eleanor Cross (now occupied by a statue of King Charles I mounted on a horse) located at the former hamlet of Charing. / King Edward I had twelve crosses erected between 1291-4, marking the route of the funeral procession from Lincoln to London,as a memorial to his wife, Eleanor of Castile.

  • / This bronze Nikon Nikkormat camera sits at the side of a fountain in a square just off Shad Thames in Butler’s Wharf near Tower Bridge. How’s that for an address! / I don’t know whether this is made entirely of bronze or just been dipped in bronze. It does seem rather detailed. / There is sits, at the side of the fountain along with some bronze books and bronze ballet-shoes, gathering verdigris.
