Webb Bridge is down-to-earth, a project Melbourne can be proud of, built among the superannuated towers of Docklands. It suggests, romantically, the fishing nets, cages, middens and naughty hosiery of the old wharfs. It is biological and ethereal, a stab in the dark and sculptural.

/ . / I had some requests of a portrait shot of my photo entitled “Luna over Luna Park”. Luckily, I had taken the shot. I’m not great at giving photos titles, hence the title for this one. This was taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, “Luna Harbour” and “Luna PANORAMA”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because this is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !

A Susan Epps Oliver original 2008. All rights reserved This work was derived from basically a happy snap taken whilst out walking on Skyline Drive in Virginia. The night I worked on it was stormy and kind of eerie so I decided to imagine how the bridge might have looked on that night. I used the fractalius filter ( Photoshop plug-in ) to give the stringiness to the foliage and then played with many variations in brightness/contrast, colour etc until I arrived at the effect I wanted. It was about 3 hours work which included cloning out stuff which I thought made the image look cluttered. BEST VIEWED LARGER This shot taken from MIlsons Point directly under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the lights and skyline of the city on the opposite shore. Taken around midnight the waters of Sydney are lit with colours of the rainbow. For visitors to Sydney , you can walk across to Milsons point, or catch train trip to Milson’s Point station. This shot was taken with no filters with a Nikon D300 and Nikon 18-200mm lens securely mounted on a Manfrotto Tripod, using three bracketed exposures which were then processed using Photomatix HDR Software. Sydneys’ Iconic Opera House, early evening, and the parties are starting to fire up. Thanks to a 30th Birthday on the night, the front of the western side was nice and colourful :) Canon 50D 10mm.

The newest crossing over the River Tees, Infinity Bridge instantly changed the skyline over Stockton. The arches of Infinity Bridge were lifted into place in 2008. The Bridge was opened in May 2009. Originally conceived as an image to raise awareness of homeless people, I had named it “Night Out On The Town” when I made the first version of this last year. Completely reworked with textures and filters, I now offer this updated version. / My very patient wife was such a good sport to stand under this bridge on a cold, windy night. Man, she’s tolerant of my idiosyncrasies! Long exposure using available light, with minor LED light painting to bring out some highlights.
