  • Lonely Bride...
    by Basia McAuley

    US$6.65–US$152.00

This image is the 1st in a series of 3….. My inspiration behind this are all the lovely wedding images that I see; full of hope, happiness and love, but as we all know the divorce rate is very high and unfortunately many of the beautiful and happy couples divorce… It makes me wonder how would these couples feel if they knew that a few years down the road and a couple of children later, their union would end in divorce. These are the emotions I have tried to capture and portray in my series. And I would like to add a huge thank you to my model and best friend who was also my inspiration as she too recently divorced but was still brave enough to get back into her beautiful wedding dress for this shoot.

  • the forgotten bride
    by JimFilmer

    US$4.99–US$114.00

The ring is on my hand, And the wreath is on my brow; / Satin and jewels grand Are all at my command, / And I am happy now. And my lord he loves me well; But, when first he breathed his vow, / I felt my bosom swell- For the words rang as a knell, / And the voice seemed his who fell In the battle down the dell, / And who is happy now. But he spoke to re-assure me, And he kissed my pallid brow, / While a reverie came o’er me, And to the church-yard bore me, / And I sighed to him before me, Thinking him dead D’Elormie, / “Oh, I am happy now!” And thus the words were spoken, And this the plighted vow, / And, though my faith be broken, And, though my heart be broken, / Here is a ring, as token / That I am happy now! Would God I could awaken! For I dream I know not how! / And my soul is sorely shaken Lest an evil step be taken,- / Lest the dead who is forsaken / May not be happy now. ... This is what a Mother of the Bride is supposed to look like I assume. Uncomfortable, stressed and never look as good as the bride which my daughter looked like an angel. I on the other hand looked like crap. I needed a good stiff drink and some food which I missed which I paid for and some champagne which everyone else got but I missed and I paid for as well. What’s up with that? It was a lovely wedding but I wish I would have had time to enjoy it. / Last photo of me…I Promise!
