A ponderous moment.
I created this using an assortment of stock photos and applying my photoshop skills with layers, hues and saturations, and other effects. Hope you like it.
From the series “Lit by the Dark of the Shadow’. This image was the grand-daddy of them all – on the wall at 1300×900mm, whilst the other 13 were 700×500mm. I chose to do this one large as it pretty much summed up everything I wanted to address with this show. Journey and exploration, choice and consequence, and polarities such as ego and shadow, light and dark, positive and negative. We each present a side of us to the world that is bathed in light, goodness and fertility. We hide or suppress our darkness, our ugly bits of which we’re ashamed. My question within this show is, if we each acknowledge or experience our own shadow are we not more knowledgable about ourselves, and consequently the world we exist in?

This is the town Hall in Barnsley, taken just after dark, three shot HDR, the HDR makes it appear lighter than what it was

1 Thessalonians 4:16 / For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: / Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / Canon 400d / /

Taken deep in the under ground bunkers and tunnels of point Nepean National Park in Victoria Australia….Fort Nepean contains an extensive system of fortifications built from the 1880s through to the World War 1 and World War 2. Interpretive displays and audiovisuals are located in several areas and tell the story of defence. Over the years, including the last 40,000 years of Aboriginal occupation, the area known as Point Nepean has become enriched with environmental and cultural history. The Quarantine Station was established on the shores of Port Phillip Bay in 1852. It was used to protect the colony of Melbourne from ship borne diseases. There may still be unexploded ordnance in the Point Nepean area. Keep to roads and tracks and observe signs.
A laneway in the backstreets of Valencia, Spain. This was taken in June on a warm summer’s night. Everything was perfectly still and quiet down the lane. Huge contrast to the day time when you could barely walk down it with the amount of people about! I think every Australian knows of Port Arthur, for dark events that happened here, both in the recent past, and early days of Australia. A correctional facility for the re-offending criminals from Britain and Ireland, this was more than just a jail. It was about changing these men to rejoin society. It was used from 1833 until the 1877 when it was closed down. This was the main church, and it was one of Australia’s first non-denominational churches. Built using convict labour, in the gothic style. The bird in the shot is a crow. I did try to get one of the many rosellas in the area in the shot, but no luck there. Canon 50D, 10mm.
