The Old Swan Brewery On The Banks Of The Swan River With The City Of Perth In The Background. Equipment used to make this image… / Camera – Nikon D200 with 18 – 200mm Lens / Tripod / Program – Photomatix Pro 2.4.1 / 5 Exposures
This building facade is located in Port Melbourne, Victoria. What appeals to me about it is how the original alcoholic signage has been left, which I believe is for heritage reasons.
I think this place used to be the Carlton Brewery, the whole area that contained this place was strictly fenced off to the public, I snuck through an obviously man made hole near the right of this photo through the wooden part of the fence. I think the reason it’s off limits is because there’s a totally asbestos riddled building behind me in the image, I was safe where i was though! I really love photographing old derelict buildings like this one, it has some top notch graffiti, broken old relics from another era, and just a generally well aged feeling about the place. Totally worth breaking into!
This is the second stop I made the otherday with sunrise shots in Perth . / I was really glad i fitted all three stops in . / It is also my favourite , the sunrise had a really intense red look to it at this stage and the reflection of the water was amazing . The water was so still . The photo is of the Perth Rowing club on the Swan River , I think it was about 550am . The shot was taken from the Perth Ferry Jetty in front of Lucky Shag bar . / Its was 5 shot stitched together in Photoshop . I used a cokin ND filter plus uv filter for this one . sorry for spelling mistakes in a rush have to go to work again shortly :(
FULL VIEW PLEASE** This shot of Cottesloe Beach in Western Australia was from early this morning at Sunrise. It is another favourite place of mine in WA and I wanted to catch get an image of it at sunrise . I took several attempts trying to find a good angle and right exposure to capture the indain tea house (building on the left) and the ocean . In the end this was my favourite out of the lot , I really liked the movment in the water , gave the photo a really nice feel . It was a pitty there was so much foot prints in the sand as i got to the beach at 04:30am and there were a few people down the beach already . This was 3 shots stitched in Photoshop to make this panorama . / I found this one difficult becuase the light changed a lot from each shot eventhought i was shooting in manual mode .
This was another shot from the other day at Sunset. I really wanted to bring out the amazing colors of the sunset and shooting directly at the sun was hard to get a good exposure especially with the standard canon kit lens I was getting a fair bit of lens flare (Cant wait till I my Sigma 10 -20 mm lens). So I bracketed 3 different exposures all 2 stops apart. I used a cokin ND grad filter to try to keep some of the color in the fore ground. / I really liked the contrasting colors in this shot and the tree made a nice Silhouette I then used Photomatrix pro to convert the 3 images into a HDR . Final curves and sat were done in PhotoShop.
Another shot from the beach at sunset . / I think the location was City Beach . / / As I was walking along the beach the sunset turned an amazing red . / I had to run back up the beach to a log I had found earlier and use it for my point of intreset . I really like the movment in the water of this shot . Will upload more details later going to bed now :)
Sunrise at the Perth Bell Tower in Western Australia .

One of the shots I took of the Busselton Jetty in Western Australia the other Weekend . / This was a 10 image stitch .
Just a Quick one I was had , Liked the sky in it so I though I would post it / . / 10 Image Stitch of Sugar Loaf Bay in Dunsbrough at Sunrise from a few weeks back

Julian Thomas’s description of the Cascade Brewery (which is quoted by Cyril Pearl in Beer, Glorious Beer) cannot be surpassed (1895): “Surely the Cascade Brewery is more beautifully situated than any brewery in the world. … Massively built of granite, four and five stories high, the brewery only wants towers instead of chimeys to play the part of a castle. The pillars of the gates leading into the brewery are surmounted by imitation casks hewn out of stone. They bear the date of 1824, the year the new wing was erected. This date takes one back to the ancient history of Victoria. It is almost bewildering to think that when the site of Marvellous Melbourne had been untrodden by white man this massive building was erected. But the Cascade Brewery was built, not for a day, but in the old solid European style for many generations. I dare say it will be standing a hundred years hence, its pale ale as popular a drink as in these days.” 105 years after this was written, the Cascade Brewery still stands. And happily, you can still enjoy a Cascade Pale Ale. /
The view of Cascade brewery that tourists don’t normally photograph. / Cascade brewery, Hobart Tasmania.

The ‘thirst’ [first] in the Beer Garden Series. Cornish Pride. / A nice pint of ‘Tribute Bitter’, brewed in St Austell, Cornwall, and enjoyed in many pubs in Cornwall and Devon. Would make an ideal Fathers Day Card, which is approaching fast. Hope you enjoy looking at this, as much as I enjoyed drinking it. LOL Best Viewed Large.
A glass of Cider, which goes by the name of ‘Cornish Rattler’. / Goes down a treat and is 6%. :-)) / Yes, that is what I had the other night. Hic. Anyway. Carnival night in Dawlish, Devon, England, and thanks to the young man in the previous pic for supplying the bargain lighting, which was a single led torch, shining from below the table shining up from the bottom of the glass. Again, apart from some cropping and sharpening, nothing else has been done to this pic. Handheld at 1/30, f5.6, iso 3200, and WB set to Tungsten. / I am very happy in how this turned out. Thank you for looking. / Hope you like it. Best Viewed, and tasted, Large. LOL. /
Classic Icon of Tasmania, the Cascade Brewery. Eventually found this after getting hopelessly lost, hehe! Mount Wellington in the background to the right. Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm, available Large and best viewed Large!! :)
Did you ever visit a place where you completely forget what year it is now? Once we walked through the front gate of the brewery we thought we stepped into 1850s. I would call it The Time Machine of Goulburn city. You walk in and for $5.20 it takes you 150 years back (tastings included). Built in the middle of 19 century it is one of the oldest surviving breweries in Australia. Beautiful place, with a lot of history in it and it is history that can be seen, touched and photographed. And the best part – it is a working brewery where good old traditional ale is still produced. This was a situation where I wished I had a wider lens than my universal Nikon 18-200mm. The window was very close to a wall and it was hard to fill the frame. I managed to find a little square of space on the stairs leading to the 2nd floor and set up my tripod there. Next steps were easy: 3 RAW merged in HDR, then tonemapped and post-processed. From my photoblog at http://www.bouncedphoton.com This print is available with 0% markup. Please enjoy and thank you for your visit!
