a beautiful song about the beach at Byron, really worth a listen on utube / Forgotten Beach (Byron Bay) – Robert James / Bay Watch / Beach Series / Karin Taylor / Mixed Media ink pastel acrylic charcoal….plus a lot of gesso :) / I sketched this girl at the The Pass, Byron Bay… / a pretty famous beach, i live close to this beach… / it’s one of the most beautiful places on earth… In my teenage years, everything we did involved the beach, all the fun we had, all the mischief we got up to, from midnight swims, to campfires…..that was our escape…..the first place I went camping on a sorta freedom trip when i was 15 with my two best girls Marve and Prawn…..we were the best friends ever….their we played amongst the surf, got bronzed and enjoyed the attention of the local surfer boys…ahhh memories…. that was one of the best, i have the greatest fondness for all things surrounding the beach, and this song about Byron Bay beach just says it all for me… i hope you like it…. Acrylic painting. This painting was inspired by the lake that we visit in Northern California. The trees are so thick and there are layers and layers. I would love to work on more like this and get a better feel for the trees, but for now I enjoyed finding a way to show the beautiful pines as the caught a Moment of Sun. / / /

Summer breezes waft gently over growing barley near Lubbesthorpe, Leicestershire, UK, whilst an old Oak tree holds its place in the hedgerow beyond, watching hundreds of years of constant change. Sadly, this scene may soon be lost under concrete and brick as the city expands further to cater for our seemingly complex needs.

Wow, I finally made something again. I’d been feeling rather uninspired for a while. It’s good to be creating again. / Autumn is my favorite season, I always get excited in the fall, the colors and smells make me feel very nostalgic , this image is celebrating it using my favorite fall colors~ Mother Nature changed her appearance with each season.. September 27, 2009. Looks Best on Full Size Poor little mite!!!!! A dark eyed junco hanging on to the slender branches of our river birch for all he’s worth on a gusty, blowy March afternoon. March 2nd, 2009 to be exact … as they say, March does come in like a lion around here!!! I don’t have the heart to tell the little darling that winter is coming again soon!!!! Taken with the Nikon D40x and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens at 1/400 shutter and f/5.6 aperture, exp +.33, focal length 300mm and iso 400. Single handheld image duplicated 3 times in Photoshop to evals of +3, 0, -1 and -2 then processed in Photomatix Pro. By the way, everyone, fyi, there’s an update to Photomatix!!! Thank you again, Karl Williams for the info!!!!! Two textures added amid a flurry of dodging and burning and tinkering!! The Dark-Eyed Junco / “Dark-eyed Junco: Medium sparrow with considerable geographic color variation, although all exhibit a pink bill, dark eyes, white belly, dark-centered tail with white outer feathers. Short flight with white outer tail feathers flashing, alternates several rapid wing beats with wings pulled to sides. / Interesting Facts: / The Dark-eyed Junco was the most common feeder bird in North America during the 1996-1997 Project FeederWatch season. / They mainly eat insects and seeds.
